Insight Global is hiring for an Environmental Specialist in Permitting and Compliance specifically to support Stormwater and Wastewater projects across the state of South Carolina with a major utility company. In this role, you will serve as an in-house technical expert responsible for managing water-related environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, and front-end environmental due diligence for company projects. This role applies engineering and environmental science principles to ensure projects comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations with a specific focus on construction stormwater and wastewater. - Obtain wastewater and construction stormwater environmental permits, including application preparation, submission, tracking, renewal, and close-out. - Ensure ongoing compliance with permit conditions, regulatory requirements, and environmental standards. - Prepare and review stormwater and wastewater drawings, calculations, and supporting technical documentation for submittal to regulatory agencies. - Conduct front-end environmental due diligence - Coordinate and manage and/or review Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) during project planning and acquisition stages. - Oversee environmental reviews related to environmental constraints. - Coordinate and/or review archaeological and cultural resource surveys as required by federal, state, or local agencies. - Support NEPA and state-level environmental review processes, including documentation and agency coordination. - Conduct site assessments, field inspections, and data analysis to support permitting and compliance decisions. - Prepare/review technical reports, and compliance documentation. - Coordinate with local and state agencies on permitting requirements, inspections, and meetings - Work closely with engineering, construction, operations, and legal to integrate environmental requirements into project design, schedules, and execution. - Advise on environmental impacts associated with construction, transmission and infrastructure projects. - Support development of bid documents and environmental scopes of work for consultants and contractors. - Oversee environmental monitoring programs and maintain accurate compliance records. - Manage compliance with permit conditions, inspection schedules, and reporting deadlines. - Assist in developing and improving internal environmental policies and procedures. - Maintain organized, audit-ready environmental documentation. The compensation for this role varies between $90,000 and $115,000 depending on experience.
