Position Summary: Seattle Indian Health Board (SIHB) places a strong emphasis on the services offered by our Behavioral Health Department. The Residential Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Clinical Supervisor works closely with other leadership staff to carry out the mission of SIHB in the delivery of culturally attuned, high-quality, and accessible healthcare. Collaboration with our outpatient SUD staff is paramount to ensure continuity of care for all relatives who transition through all levels of SUD Treatment. Practices will be guided by our IndigiKnow Model of Care. The SUD Clinical Supervisor will report directly to the Clinical Director of Residential Treatment. The Residential Clinical Supervisor FTE will be split 50% for direct clinical practice (20 hours) and 50% for administrative time (20 clinical oversight hours). Organizational Structure/Reporting Relationships: This position reports directly to the Clinical Director of Residential Treatment. The Residential SUD Clinical Supervisor supervises the SUD counselors. The SUD Clinical Supervisor also exercises indirect oversight over counselor aides. Job ResponsibilitiesSupervisory: The Residential Substance Use Disorder Clinical Supervisor will work in close collaboration with our Outpatient SUD and Mental Health Teams. The primary role of the SUD Clinical Supervisor is to provide on-going clinical group supervision to further develop and enhance the clinical knowledge of the treatment team. In addition to providing on-going clinical didactic trainings, the SUD Clinical Supervisor is directly responsible for utilization review of all clinical cases. This is accomplished through weekly clinical case staffing(s): ensuring all diagnosis/diagnoses appropriately demonstrate medical necessity; Individual Services Plans (ISP) identify goals, methods/interventions, and measurable outcomes; and ensure all services are being delivered in a culturally sensitive way. Along with the primary goal of developing clinical acumen for SIHB SUD and MH Providers, of equal importance is to ensure clinical charting demonstrates quality care and is completed within the designated time frames allotted by our licensing, funding, and accrediting agencies. In the event non-compliance issues arise it is the direct responsibility of the SUD Clinical Supervisor to alert both the Associate Behavioral Health Officer and the Chief Operations Officer (COO) if any non-compliance issues should develop. Clinical Responsibilities: Provide clinical supervision and direction for the relative care. Demonstrate clinical knowledge, ethics, and awareness surrounding crisis intervention and standard clinical practice. Facilitate weekly Multi-Disciplinary Case Staffing Meetings (Clinical Group Supervision). Provide on-going weekly/monthly clinical didactic trainings In addition to group supervision, the clinical supervisor will provide individual supervision to Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainees and/or Substance Use Disorder Professionals who may require additional guidance (collaboration between counselor and clinical supervisor). Provide individual weekly supervision to Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainees. Conduct bi-monthly quality assurance chart reviews (internal audits) to ensure each provider remains in compliance with licensing, governing, and accreditation bodies. Utilization review of all clinical records to ensure all consumer relatives are receiving adequate treatment and care to address diagnosis/diagnoses. Utilization review will be conducted during weekly clinical staffing, review of diagnosis/diagnoses, review of Individual Service Plan (ISP) to ensure appropriate intervention(s)/treatment(s) are being applied to address identified goals, and measurable outcomes are being demonstrated. Provide clinical oversight for imminent and/or unusual situations pertaining to client care. Work in close collaboration weith other departments and/or community partners to ensure continuity of care. Work in coordination with the other Outpatient Behavioral Health Programs to ensure coordination of care is occurring for dual diagnosis/co-occurring individuals. Create clinical policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure appropriate clinical processes are being put in place. Other: Actively participate in internal quality improvement teams and work with members proactively to drive quality improvement initiatives in accordance with the mission and strategic goals of the organization, federal and state laws and regulations, and accreditation standards, when assigned. RequirementsBackground QualificationsRequired/Preferred: Substance Use Disorder Professional Certification Required. Qualified SUD Clinical Supervisor Required. Master's Degree in Social Work, Master's in Counseling Psychology, Master's in Mental Health Counseling, or Master's in Marriage and Family preferred. Five years of experience as an SUD Clinical Supervisor required. Knowledge and familiarity with both Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health rules and regulations as they relate to residential governing, licensing, and funding agencies. Ability to lead a service delivery team of both professionals and entry-level staff. Computer skills sufficient to carry out position duties. Experience with utilizing Electronic Health Records required. Familiarity with the health and social issues facing the American Indian/Alaska Native population and a desire to serve this population. Valid Washington state driver's license and insured personal transportation to attend meetings locally. Ability to attend occasional meetings out of town and on weekends or evenings. Work Environment: SIHB operates primarily on a 4x10 (4 days per week/10 hours per day) work schedule, between the hours of 7 am and 6 pm, with occasional extra hours required for events, meetings, and/or trainings. In addition, all residential treatment staff SUDP will be on a one-week on-call quarterly rotation throughout the evening/weekend.
