Job Description

Maintains/diagnoses/repairs off-road equipment, primarily forklifts, scrubbers, walkie-rider lifts, straddle jacks and pallet jacks. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Trouble shoots and accurately diagnoses mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions. Determines parts and supplies needed to effectively repair or maintain units and orders through parts procurement process. Must perform cutting, welding, or grinding to complete repairs. Performs all scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance in a manner that is consistent with company and industry standards to maintain cost efficiency and provide maximum up-time for the warehousing and facility maintenance operations. Maintains vehicle maintenance files as required by Company standard maintenance protocol. Immediately repairs or removes from service if any unit does not meet Company or OSHA safety standards in an effort to eliminate exposure to risk or injury. Must provide all necessary tools and diagnostic equipment needed to efficiently maintain Company off-road equipment. Must occasionally make repairs at other Company branches or off site. Must adhere to strict safe working practices, company policies, rules, and regulations. Must correct obvious hazards immediately or report to supervisor if not immediately correctable. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent 3-5 years on the job experience as a forklift technician Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements In person travel within the service territories of clients required Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) certifications, definite plus Must be able to safely operate a pallet jack, electric fork-lift Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and driving record within MVR policy guidelines Physical Requirement: Talk, hear, and see (including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus) Frequent climbing, pushing, pulling and maneuvering dolly, hand truck, bay roll up doors, straps, curb ramps, truck doors, boxes, cases, kegs, truck gear shift Ability to enter and exit the driver's compartment of the truck and/or behind cab using normally available footholds and handholds Must regularly lift and move up to 100lbs Pushing/pulling: up to 100lbs force for turning wrenches, pulling out parts Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to inspect and or wash vehicles Ability to communicate verbally and in writing Ability to hear voice commands in areas with a high level of background noise Ability to demonstrate or learn to safely handle large trucks in a critically safe and precise manner within very constrained and compact areas Working Conditions: All weather conditions (indoor & outdoor) including high temperatures, cool/cold temperatures, wind, ice, humidity, rain, fog, hail, sleet and snow Daylight, twilight, evening and dark lighting conditions Noise, vibration, dust, dirt, airborne particles, fumes Work hours will vary daily due to business needs
