TITLE: Field Service Technician TYPE: Direct Hire LOCATION: Broomall PA / National Travel ONSITE/REMOTE/HYBRID: 80% travel & 20% in Newtown PA START DATE: March 2026 We are seeking a Field Service Technician to provide on-site installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment at customer facilities. This role requires developing a strong understanding of multiple equipment platforms in order to support system modifications, rebuilds, upgrades, and customer training. The position is field-based and involves extensive nationwide travel, with occasional international travel, supporting customers in a wide range of operating environments. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Perform installation, configuration, and system integration of equipment and related third-party components to meet operational requirements. Assist in the development and maintenance of technical documentation and service resources. Train customer personnel on safe operation, routine maintenance, and best practices. Work collaboratively with customers to identify improvement opportunities and recommend service solutions that enhance performance and reliability. Communicate all field modifications, system changes, and findings to internal technical teams to support updates to drawings, manuals, software files, and training materials. Issue written safety notifications describing identified hazards and distribute documentation to appropriate internal stakeholders for recordkeeping. Manage on-site activities from installation through system validation and customer acceptance. Set up and operate equipment to confirm proper functionality, capability, and performance. Provide remote technical assistance to customers when on-site support is not required. Prepare detailed service reports following each service visit and review report content with the customer for confirmation. Submit signed service reports, expense documentation, and time records on a weekly basis. Assemble, align, and adjust mechanical and electrical components according to specifications. Immediately notify customers if unsafe equipment conditions or operating practices are identified. QUALIFICATIONS Associate degree or equivalent technical training in Mechatronics or a related discipline. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in technical field service, applications engineering, or comparable military technical roles. Willingness to travel extensively, including frequent overnight domestic travel and periodic international travel. Valid driver's license required. Ability to obtain and maintain a passport. Demonstrated experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and electrical systems. Experience working with internal teams and external customers in a service-oriented environment. Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities with a structured approach to problem solving. Proficiency with web-based tools and standard office software applications. Self-directed, proactive, and results-focused work style. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple service engagements. Customer-focused mindset with an understanding of the impact of service quality on business success. Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work efficiently with a strong sense of urgency. Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing customer and business needs. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to stand for extended periods, including workdays of up to 12 hours. Ability to work in both cold (approximately 35-40°F) and hot (approximately 90-100°F) environments, depending on customer site conditions. Ability to travel overnight extensively (90% or more), including air travel. Ability to climb, work in and around machinery, and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in varied industrial environments, including high noise levels, dusty or damp conditions, and facilities handling food and non-food products.
