Estimator We are looking for a highly skilled and self-motivated estimator with expertise in commercial electrical and roofing projects to join our team. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented professional who thrives on delivering accurate and competitive estimates under tight timelines. Once a project is contracted, you will transition seamlessly into project management responsibilities, overseeing the execution and ensuring successful project delivery. Responsibilities: Review RFQ documentation, drawings, and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates for commercial electrical and roofing projects. Conduct detailed takeoffs and prepare competitive bid proposals. Research materials, labor rates, subcontractor costs, and timelines to generate accurate estimates. Utilize construction software tools (e.g., Procore, PlanSwift, Buildertrend) to manage bid development. Maintain professional communication with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to clarify project scope and pricing discrepancies. Meet strict RFQ deadlines while balancing multiple, simultaneous bids. Post-Contract Stage: Project Management Transition from estimation to project management responsibilities once contracts are awarded. Coordinate schedules, subcontractors, field teams, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution. Track and manage project budgets, addressing discrepancies to maintain profitability. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during project execution, ensuring satisfaction. Address and resolve challenges in a proactive and professional manner. Maintain detailed documentation of project performance, change orders, and schedules. Qualifications: Experience: Proven background in estimating within the electrical, roofing, and commercial construction industries. Project Management: Solid experience in managing projects after contract award, including coordinating teams and tracking budgets. Software Expertise: Proficiency in construction software (Procore, Buildertrend, PlanSwift, or equivalent). Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to foster relationships with clients and stakeholders. Time Management: Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently as a remote contractor and meet obligations without constant oversight. Construction Knowledge: Familiarity with roofing systems, electrical installations, industry standards, and codes. Preferred Skills: Experience with commercial renewable energy projects is a plus.
