Call Center Agent Centerpoint Medical Group Call Center Agents serve as the first point of contact for patients; providing information, scheduling appointments, and addressing inquiries. They play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and patient-centered communication within the healthcare system. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Answering incoming calls from patients or other healthcare facilities while following the best practices of AIDET customer service, provide information, assistance, and support. Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with healthcare providers and clinical staff. Route incoming calls to appropriate clinic departments/extension. Verify patient demographic and insurance information. Document patient interactions, inquiries, and appointment details accurately. Follow established call center protocols, including HIPAA compliance, to protect patient confidentiality. Adhere to the policies and procedures set forth in the Revenue Cycle Guidelines: Best Practices as defined in Business Practices Section 1.2 Etiquette and Telephone communications: and Revenue Cycle: Scheduling and Patient Pre-Visit Financial Clearance Section 2.1. Handle patient complaints and concerns professionally and empathetically. Provide basic medical information and directions to patients as appropriate. Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to resolve patient issues. Other related duties within the designated scope of practice. Reports to: Call Center Supervisor FLSA: Non-Exempt Education and/or Work Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; relevant post-secondary education is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using call center software and electronic health records (EHR) systems. Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare processes. Empathy, patience, and a customer-centric approach to patient care. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Knowledge of healthcare compliance and regulations, including HIPAA. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Physical Requirements: Sit or stand for extended periods of time. Be able to listen and speak clearly in person and on the telephone.
