Sr. Employee Benefits Sales Consultant As a Sr. Employee Benefits Sales Consultant, your primary responsibility is to proactively seek out new opportunities, engage in client acquisition, provide proposals, and successfully sell both new and renewed employee benefits accounts. Specific sales targets and service obligations will be established annually through the planning process. Your focus should consistently prioritize the quality of the insurance products you offer to clients while meeting established service and sales standards. This entails delivering exceptional value to our clients through meticulously tailored employee benefits solutions. In this role, your overarching activities will encompass: Develop and Execute Revenue Growth Strategy: Devise, maintain, and execute a successful sales strategy focused on expanding revenue and exceeding quota. Client Engagement: Schedule and conduct meetings with both potential and existing clients to present and promote our employee benefits products and services. Manage the entire renewal process along with enrollment meetings. Business Development: Actively participate in networking events and industry-specific groups to foster new leads and opportunities in the employee benefits space. CRM Management: Keep our CRM system updated with your daily activities and interactions with clients and prospects. New Client Onboarding: Ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new clients by submitting accurate and complete paperwork to the implementation team and collaborating with them throughout the onboarding process. As a Sr. Employee Benefits Sales Consultant, your day-to-day actions will include: Prompt Prospect Follow-Up: Respond to prospects within one business day to provide timely and valuable insights on our employee benefits offerings. Client Transition Support: Assist the implementation team in connecting with newly acquired clients, ensuring a seamless transition to our services. Sales Meetings: Actively participate in regularly scheduled sales meetings to stay informed about market trends, product updates, and best practices in the employee benefits sector. Follow-Up and Future Planning: Timely follow up with prospects and schedule future activities in HubSpot to guarantee timely and effective follow-ups. While performing the duties of this role, you should be aware of the following physical demands: Stationary Work: You must be able to remain in a stationary position for approximately 80% of the time, primarily involving desk work and computer usage. Office Equipment Operation: Operating a computer and other office equipment will be a constant requirement, including fine manipulation of equipment and data. Communication: Expect frequent verbal communication via telephone, video conference, and in-person meetings with clients and team members. Concentration and Analysis: The role will require prolonged concentration and analysis, especially when dealing with complex employee benefits plans and strategies. In this position, your dedication, excellent communication skills, and in-depth knowledge of employee benefits will be instrumental in helping our clients navigate the complexities of their benefits packages and achieving their financial and personal goals. Education, Experience, License or Certifications: Industry Knowledge: A deep understanding of employee benefits, health insurance, and related regulations is highly desirable. This knowledge should extend to current market trends, emerging products, and competitive landscape. Sales Performance Metrics: Experience in meeting or exceeding sales performance metrics, such as sales quotas, conversion rates, and client retention rates, is a significant advantage. Networking Skills: Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships in the employee benefits industry, including a track record of leveraging networks to identify new business opportunities. Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills to secure competitive rates and terms on behalf of clients while maintaining positive relationships with insurance providers. Team Collaboration: The ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including implementation, client services, and compliance teams, to ensure a seamless client onboarding process. Self-Motivation: Demonstrated self-motivation and the ability to work independently to meet and exceed sales goals. Client Portfolio: A successful track record of managing a diverse portfolio of employee benefits clients and delivering tailored solutions to meet their specific needs. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential for data analysis, financial modeling, and creating customized benefit proposals for clients. Candidates should be able to demonstrate their ability to use Excel effectively in a professional setting. Prior experience with a broker, carrier, or a benefits administration firm a must. Current Life & Health resident insurance license required. Proven experience in sales consulting within the employee benefits space is essential.
