Locum Tenens Gastroenterologist Opportunity - Near Sacramento, CA We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Gastroenterologist for a locum tenens position near Sacramento, CA. This role involves providing both clinic-based consultative care and performing GI procedures. The ideal candidate will be available to work for at least six months to a year. This opportunity offers a chance to work in a dynamic clinical environment and assist with the backlog of diagnostic and screening procedures. Position Details: Specialty : Gastroenterology Shift Type : Days Shift Times : Weekdays: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM Monday through Friday Assignment Duration : ASAP - Ongoing (6 months to a year) Primary Duties: Setting : Clinic and outpatient Procedures : Colonoscopy and endoscopy, 2-3 days per week Patient Load : 16-20 patients per day in the clinic 8-10 procedures per day in the outpatient center Consultative and Follow-Up Care : Provide care in the ambulatory clinic setting Support Staff : Assigned medical assistant and procedure scheduler Key Responsibilities: Clinic Setting : The provider will work 5 days a week in an outpatient clinic setting. GI Procedures : Perform routine GI procedures such as colonoscopies and endoscopies. Call : Minimal call responsibilities, primary focus is clinic and procedures. Requirements: Board Certification/Eligibility : Gastroenterology State License : Active California license required Gastroenterology Fellowship : Strongly preferred Malpractice : Clean malpractice history strongly preferred EMR System: Cerner : Experience with Cerner EMR preferred Credentialing: Emergency/Temporary Privileges : Not available Start Date : ASAP - Ongoing This is an excellent opportunity to step into a busy practice and provide much-needed care for patients with GI conditions.
