Private capital markets need a comprehensive software solution to replace outdated spreadsheets and fragmented service providers. Carta's software for the Office of the Fund CFO does just that - it's a new category of software to make private markets look more like public markets - a connected ERP for private capital. As a Public Policy Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience in public policy, government affairs, and strategic communications at a high-growth technology company that is driving the future of private capital. During this 10-week internship, we are looking for proactive candidates who are eager to learn how policy intersects with innovation, entrepreneurship, and private capital to support our efforts to lower barriers, expand access, and strengthen private capital. During this 10-week internship, you will help the policy team stay organized, informed, and responsive in a fast-moving regulatory environment. In this role, you will: Support tracking federal and state legislative and regulatory developments that impact private capital Research and analyze emerging policy issues that impact private markets and innovation Help draft weekly newsletter, social content, and insights on topics impacting private capital Support stakeholder mapping and outreach efforts Coordinate across workstreams to ensure events, content, and other projects stay on track Attend congressional hearings, participate in policymaker meetings, and connect with external stakeholders, including trade associations, entrepreneurs, and investors The Team You'll Work With As a Public Policy Intern, you'll support Carta's Policy team and gain exposure to how a fast-growing technology company engages with policymakers, ecosystem partners, and industry stakeholders to drive policy outcomes to expand access to private capital and bolster ownership opportunities. You will also collaborate across our Marketing team and business units to learn how policy can drive value for our customers: venture capital, private equity, private credit, and the companies and investors they serve. Program At-a-Glance Location: Washington, DC (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday mandatory in-office) Duration: 10 Weeks (June 8, 2026 August 14, 2026) Commitment: 40 hours per week Compensation: $25.00/hour About You Current Student: Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program (Law, Communications, Business, Finance, or Technology majors preferred).
