We are seeking an experiencedVeterinary Surgical Nurseto support complex surgical cases and deliver exceptional perioperative patient care.Position OverviewThe Specialty Surgical Nurse is an integral part of the surgical team, responsible for advanced anesthesia, intraoperative support, and meticulous perioperative nursing care. This role is ideal for a credentialed technician who excels in a fast paced, referral-level environment and is passionate about patient advocacy and technical excellence.Core ResponsibilitiesPrepare and maintain advanced surgical suites and sterile fieldsAssist board-certified surgeons during complex specialty proceduresPerform anesthesia induction, maintenance, and recovery for high-risk patientsUtilize advanced anesthetic monitoring (ECG, invasive/non-invasive BP, ETCO₂, SpO₂, temperature)Anticipate surgeon needs and support efficient surgical flowCalculate, prepare, and administer anesthetic and analgesic protocolsProvide comprehensive pre-, intra-, and post-operative nursing careMaintain and troubleshoot anesthesia and surgical equipmentAccurately document anesthetic records and patient statusCommunicate effectively with surgeons and staffRequired QualificationsCredentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT) requiredMinimum [1-2+] years of surgical anesthesia experience preferredStrong understanding of anesthetic pharmacology and monitoringExperience with specialty or referral cases strongly preferredExceptional attention to detail and critical thinking skillsAbility to remain calm and effective during complex or prolonged proceduresAssist with training new surgical team membersPreferred Skills (Not Required)Experience in orthopedic, soft tissue, or minimally invasive surgeryFamiliarity with ventilators, infusion pumps, and advanced monitoringWhat We OfferCompetitive specialty-level compensationComprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision)Modern surgical and anesthesia equipmentCollaborative, respectful specialty team cultureEmployee pet care discounts Pay: $1.00 - $2.00 per hour Benefits:401(k)401(k) matchingContinuing education creditsDental insuranceEmployee discountHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offUniform allowanceVision insurance Work Location: In person
