Job Title: VP, Architectural Engineering Location(s): Houston, TX; Boston, MA Reports to: Chief Technology Officer A quick snapshot As Conga's Vice President of Architecture, you'll define and evolve the enterprise architecture for our cloud-native, multi-tenant SaaS platform. This role blends strategic vision with hands-on architectural leadership, partnering closely with Engineering, Product, Security, and Operations leaders to ensure our platform remains scalable, secure, and extensible as the business grows. You'll play a central role in shaping how Conga's technology foundation supports rapid innovation today while enabling long-term growth. In this role, you'll influence how our platform evolves across product lines, guide modernization efforts, and help teams make thoughtful architectural tradeoffs that balance speed, quality, and sustainability. Your leadership ensures our technology strategy remains aligned with business priorities as we grow. Are you the person we're looking for? Technology & Architectural Strategy. You'll set the long-term architectural direction for Conga's SaaS platform, defining principles, standards, and a roadmap that aligns technology strategy with product and business goals. You'll evaluate emerging technologies and guide adoption where it creates real value, helping teams make informed decisions that scale. This includes: Defining and maintaining the enterprise architecture roadmap Establishing architectural standards and best practices Guiding technology strategy across product lines Platform & System Architecture. You'll lead the design of scalable, resilient, and secure distributed systems that power Conga's core platform. This includes ownership of high-level architecture for APIs, data pipelines, integration frameworks, identity management, and observability, while ensuring systems meet availability, performance, cost, and maintainability goals. Leadership & Collaboration. You'll mentor and lead a team of architects while partnering closely with engineering leaders to maintain alignment across teams. You'll work alongside product management to evaluate feasibility and define technical direction, and collaborate with security, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure architectures meet reliability and compliance requirements. Governance, Security & Execution. You'll guide architecture and design reviews, create reusable patterns and reference architectures, and promote engineering quality through documentation and oversight. You'll also ensure architectures support strong security, compliance, disaster recovery, and business continuity, balancing innovation with pragmatic execution to meet delivery timelines. Leadership & Mindset. You're a senior technology leader who knows how to set a clear architectural vision while staying grounded in execution. You communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, build strong cross-functional partnerships, and guide teams through complex architectural decisions with clarity and confidence. You thrive in fast-paced environments and understand how to balance innovation with stability as platforms scale. Related Experience. You bring deep technical and leadership experience building and evolving modern SaaS platforms. 1215+ years of software engineering experience, including 7+ years in architecture leadership roles Proven track record architecting scalable, cloud-native SaaS platforms Experience leading enterprise-level modernization and architectural transformation efforts Private Equity experience. You've operated in a private equitybacked environment and understand the pace, rigor, and expectations that come with value creation, operational discipline, and scaling for growth. Technical Expertise. You have deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices, API design, cloud infrastructure, and data architecture. You're experienced with platforms such as AWS, Azure, and/or GCP, and are comfortable balancing high-level strategy with hands-on problem solving when needed.
