Spanish-Speaking Companion Care/DSP-Young Lady in her 20's in NE DC Salary Range: $18.50 - $18.50 Hourly Level: Entry Position Type: Part Time Job Shift: Any Education Level: High School Travel Percentage: Local Travel Within DMV Region Description Spanish-Speaking Companion Care/Direct Support Professional Young Lady in her 20's in NE DC RCM of Washington, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer. RCM of Washington is looking to hire a part-time (18-20 hours per week) Spanish speaking Direct Support Professional to provide companion care for a young lady in her 20's living in NE DC. This young lady enjoys crafting, movies, swimming, and is currently focused on employment goals. Must have the following availability: Wednesday & Friday 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. All applicants must be bilingual and fluent in both English and Spanish, no exceptions. RCM of Washington is a premier disability service provider agency with community-based locations throughout the District of Columbia. Selected applicants will assist with community inclusion participation and the delivery of services and informed trauma care supports, if need. Selected applicants must be at least 18 years old and must be compassionate, patient and comfortable providing total care to adults. Our Companion Care Direct Support Professionals assist people in building relationships with community members, family, friends, and neighbors in all types of weather. Companion Care Direct Support Professionals will implement, document, and assist with people's personal and individualized goals. Qualifications Companion Care Direct Support Professionals are expected to perform the following essential functions: Reports to Community Inclusion Manager and/or Day Services Program Coordinator. Reports to job site at agreed upon location and scheduled time. Support personal care routines are based upon the persons needs and could include activities such as assisting with meals, finance/budgeting, bathroom needs, and dressing. Utilize adaptive devices (wheelchairs, walkers, hearing aids, etc.) if needed by person supported in accordance with RCM's adaptive equipment procedure. Support people's activities and ensure safety and healthcare practices are consistently observed. Communicates in a respectful and professional manner while representing RCM of Washington, Inc. Maintains a positive and professional work relationship with persons supported, families, co-workers, and external professionals. Reports all allegations, suspicions of abuse, neglect, or violations of "Bill of Rights." Uses person centered approaches to assist people in actively planning their daily schedule to reach their desired individualized goals and submits monthly activity schedule for supervisor(s) final approval.
