Certified Peer Support & Recovery Specialist Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana Virtual: This position allows you to work virtually full-time, with only a few required in-person training sessions. This flexibility is designed to enhance productivity and promote a healthy work-life balance. Please note that candidates outside a reasonable commuting distance from the specified location will not be considered for employment unless an accommodation is legally required. Hours: 10am-6:30pm Thurs-Mon CST The Certified Peer Support & Recovery Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting individuals who contact the Louisiana Crisis Hub by focusing on their wellness and recovery journeys. Your Impact: Engage callers and their families to help build a supportive network for recovery. Provide resources and guidance to callers, their families, and community members to assist in decision-making and problem-solving. Maintain ongoing contact with assigned individuals and providers to monitor the members' engagement with services. Support individuals identified at serious or urgent risk levels, ensuring they receive necessary follow-up. Assist callers who required a mobile crisis intervention even if the dispatch was canceled. Follow up with callers who visit emergency departments but leave before receiving placement support. Minimum Requirements: Associate degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience in health services, behavioral health, or peer support services. Relevant education and experience may be considered as equivalent qualifications. A Peer Specialist Certification in Louisiana is mandatory. Preferred Skills and Experience: Experience in crisis work and call center environments is highly desirable. A Bachelor's degree is preferred. Knowledge of local resources and active community experience is a plus. Prior experience as a Peer Specialist is strongly preferred. Bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus.
