Job Details Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – CVICU / Cardiac ICU Location: Baltimore, MD 21218 (Travel nursing jobs in Baltimore, Maryland nursing jobs) Start Date: March 24, 2026 End Date: June 23, 2026 Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Shift Duration: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Week: 36 Unit: 8-bed CVICU (average daily census: 1–8) Patient Ratio: 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends Charting System: Cerner (experience with Cerner preferred) Floating: Required to CCU as needed Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,900–$2,000 Orientation Hours: 36 Job Requirements / Qualifications Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU / Cardiac ICU RN experience required (critical care nursing experience preferred) Licensure: Active Maryland RN license or compact RN license Certifications: BLS and ACLS required Relias EKG Exam: Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms First-time travelers accepted: First-time travel nurses are welcome if they have CVICU/Cardiac ICU experience Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions) Responsibilities / Clinical Duties Provide expert nursing care to adult patients in the CVICU, including post-operative cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology patients Monitor, interpret, and manage cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias; obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips; manage ventilators and provide advanced hemodynamic monitoring (Swan-Ganz, IABP, ECMO, LVAD/RVAD) Care for patients following CABG, TAVR, valve repairs/replacements, and post-cardiac cath/intervention Perform and manage arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, CRRT, and other advanced critical care equipment Float to CCU as needed to support patient care and staffing needs Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (RT, PT, pharmacy, rapid response, etc.) to ensure safe, coordinated care Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Cerner Maintain infection prevention, isolation precautions, and PPE standards Why apply: This CVICU travel nurse job offers hands-on cardiac ICU experience, competitive estimated weekly pay, and the chance to grow your critical care nursing career in Baltimore—one of the top travel nursing destinations in Maryland.
