Job Summary We are looking for a committed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Heart Failure Transplant ICU, IMU, during full-time night shifts. Position Overview Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours, paid for 40 hours Rotating weekends and holidays; no call Qualifications: AGACNP or PA required Experience: 2-3 years of RN, PA, or NP Critical Care experience with heart failure population required; new NPs or PAs must have 2-3 years of RN experience in Critical Care ICU Patient Population: VV/VA ECMO, Mechanical Circulatory Support, Heart Transplant, Lung Transplant, LVAD, Post-op Cardiac Surgery Training: Training on devices provided Incentive: 8% geographical differential for the medical center The position is responsible for delivering comprehensive patient care through assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and in-hospital follow-up in accordance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act and Memorial Hermann Health System Standards of Care. Minimum Qualifications Education: Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant program Licenses/Certifications: Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Inc. Licensed by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners Certified in Basic and Advanced Life Support OR Education: Graduate of Nurse Practitioner Program or an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the State of Texas; Master of Nursing preferred. Licenses/Certifications: Current Texas license for professional nursing Certification by recognized credentialing centers or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners Certified in Basic Life Support; current ACLS or PALS or NRP ATLS certification required within 6 months if specific to Trauma Experience/Knowledge/Skills: Two years of clinical nursing experience in the intended practice area is required. Key Responsibilities Provide thorough assessment and therapeutic management throughout the disease process as part of an interdisciplinary team. Conduct medical histories, physical examinations, and formulate treatment plans. Execute procedures such as arterial and central line placements, intubations, and more. Participate in the development and evaluation of patient care protocols. Utilize effective communication to educate patients and families about care and resources. Ensure safety for patients, staff, and visitors, and adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies. Support personal and professional growth by meeting continuing education requirements. Pursue initiatives that enhance the organization’s success and contribute to community health. Foster compassionate and personalized care that aligns with Memorial Hermann's service standards. Other duties as assigned.
