BAE Systems is seeking a Subcontracts Functional Support Specialist at our Weapon Systems site - either in Minneapolis or Louisville. Under general supervision and acting on own initiative, the Subcontracts Functional Support Specialist performs a variety of administrative duties in support of importing parts from foreign vendors. This position will not interact with freight forwarders or customs broker or U.S. Customs Border and Protection. Principal Duties and Responsibilities will include: Perform data entry using various databases and perform any other duties or tasks as assigned. Review import documentation provided by suppliers prior to shipment Ensure compliance with customs and tariff regulations and trade laws. Provide guidance to internal team. Track shipments and update internal records to reflect shipment status. Maintain a database of documentation for all transactions. Communicate with stakeholders about the status of shipments. Provide excellent customer service to internal customers. Monitor changes in regulations and policies affecting import and export operations. Review and process subcontractor invoices in accordance with standardized processes to ensure compliance with the contractual requirements. Operates under minimal supervision. Work requires some analysis and use of initiative and independent judgment. Works on special projects, as assigned, using knowledge/skills pertinent to the function involved. Required Education, Experience, & Skills Associate degree in business administration or a related field Experience with customs requirements Familiarity with Incoterms and trade agreements Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Ability to demonstrate critical thinking using sound judgement while complying with company policies / procedures and applicable state and federal laws and regulations Ability to exhibit sound interpersonal and collaboration skills while interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with company personnel, customers, and suppliers Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Detail oriented Willingness and desire for continuous improvement Excellent time management/organizational skills Ability to find win-win solutions; a "make it happen" attitude Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Certification in international trade or logistics (highly desirable) Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $67406 - $114590 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
