Position Summary The Data Center Operations Specialist is essential to maintaining the operational integrity of our advanced data center. In this fast-paced role, you will ensure the facility's physical security, manage access control, and oversee surveillance systems. You will also be the first point of contact for customer interactions, handling inquiries, processing tickets, and managing incidents efficiently. Additional responsibilities include performing basic remote hands and escort duties for clients. Monitoring critical systems such as building management, fire control, and IT networks is crucial. Flexibility is key, as this position may require working various shifts, including weekends and holidays. Essential Job Functions Physical Security Management Oversee video surveillance systems Administer access control processes Promptly process access requests Conduct regular facility patrols Enforce security policies effectively Respond to incidents in a timely manner Customer Support Serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries through various communication channels Process requests and work with subject matter experts as necessary Manage ticket queues to ensure up-to-date communication and compliance with service level agreements Provide escort duties for representatives and vendors Deliver basic remote hands support for clients Lead the incident management process and escalation protocols Facility Monitoring Monitor the health of critical building systems through BMS and visual assessments Power systems Cooling systems Fire safety systems Ensure surveillance systems and access control are functioning correctly Track the performance of critical IT systems Networks Servers Coordinate response to significant incidents Initial response and vendor dispatch Escalate issues to management Implement crisis management protocols when necessary Disseminate advisories Coordinate restoration efforts with on-site teams Qualifications Education: Preferred: Minimum two (2) year college degree Experience: Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) Familiarity with physical security practices Customer service experience IT system qualifications or certifications are preferred but not mandatory Skills and Abilities Proficient in Windows, MAC, and iOS systems Excellent organizational and time management skills Self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced, changing environment Ability to work both collaboratively within a team and independently Understanding of data center best practices is advantageous
