Senior Telecommunications Engineering Specialist

Description DigMod is in search of a talented Telecommunications Engineering Specialist to contribute to the Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X). This innovative program plays a vital role in aiding DoD intelligence information sharing, addressing current and emerging global threats to missions and coalition partners. Primary Responsibilities Offer guidance and training to end-users and junior network staff. Identify, analyze, and resolve network incidents and issues. Provide specialized training and technical guidance on network equipment. Determine network specifications and ensure compatibility of hardware and software. Maintain in-depth knowledge of the hardware and software related to BICES. Contribute to special projects as needed. Analyze, manage, and maintain voice, video, and data communications networks. Oversee the performance and usage of communication networks. Ensure network operation meets Enterprise Service Availability and Service Level Agreement standards. Utilize IT Service Management (ITSM) principles for incident management. Maintain network security and compliance with established policies. Participate in developing and implementing network protocols and standards. Collaborate with vendors to address network outages or performance issues. Assist in creating monitoring actions and procedures for network infrastructure. Required Qualifications IAT Level II or higher certification (e.g., CompTia Sec+, GSEC, SCNP). Over 10 years of relevant experience. Must hold a Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance. BA/BS degree or equivalent experience. Completed CCNA certification is essential. Meet DOD 8750 requirements for IAT level II access upon hire; obtain ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of employment. Additional certifications may be necessary depending on assignments. Expertise in routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP). Familiarity with current Cisco IOS software and hardware. Experience with HAIPE-based encryption devices. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks effectively. Prior experience working directly with hardware vendors during incident resolution. Proficient in software systems, communications protocols, and network hardware. Experience with STIG patching and security compliance activities. This role involves working at client site locations, which may require physical effort when handling light materials or equipment. Preferred Qualifications Completed CCNP Enterprise or JNCIS-ENT. Knowledge of VoIP/VTC collaboration systems. Experience with Multicast and GRE Routing. Familiarity with virtualization technologies: VMware, Citrix, Microsoft. Experience with data center networking. Knowledge of firewall configurations and rule sets. Understanding of network virtualization principles.
