Lead the Transformation in Oncology Care Join us as a Medical Director in Oncology Performance at Evolent, where you will play a vital role in advancing and redefining cancer care delivery. What You'll Be Doing Your role will integrate clinical oncology expertise with a focus on value-based strategy and transformation. This position emphasizes collaborative engagement and innovation rather than prioritizing volume like traditional medical review roles. Core Responsibilities Team Leadership & Performance Management Lead and manage a team of medical oncologists in reviewing oncology cases. Establish performance expectations, monitor quality and efficiency, and coach team members for professional growth. Drive accountability while fostering a culture of collaboration, clinical rigor, and continuous improvement. Practice & Physician Engagement Engage actively with oncology practices, sharing best clinical practices and promoting evidence-based pathway adoption. Build trusted relationships to encourage sustainable behavior changes for improved patient outcomes. Support initiatives aimed at reducing unwarranted variation and enhancing care quality. Internal Strategy & Value Initiatives Collaborate with clinical leadership to design and implement new value initiatives in oncology. Provide insights on innovation opportunities and models of care that will foster transformation in specialty treatment. Partner with operational teams to assess the impact of interventions and identify opportunities for improvement. Participate in audits to ensure accurate advance payment model payouts aligned with clinical documentation and performance metrics. Compliance & Quality Ensure reviews and engagements comply with URAC, NCQA, and internal quality standards. Document clinical decisions and peer interactions promptly and accurately. Participate in training and maintain inter-rater reliability processes. Qualifications MD/DO/MBBS with board certification in Medical Oncology. A minimum of five (5) years' post-residency experience, with recent clinical practice preferred. Current, unrestricted medical license (multiple state licenses preferred or willingness to obtain). Proven leadership in practice transformation, clinical operations, people management, and clinical quality improvement. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational skills with a proven track record of influencing physician practices. Energetic and passionate about shaping the future of oncology care delivery. Not under sanction or exclusion from Medicare/Medicaid programs. The expected base salary for this position ranges from $270,000 to $340,000, with eligibility for performance-based bonuses. Our total compensation package includes comprehensive benefits, such as health insurance. Compensation will be determined based on skills and experience.
