Sr. Process Engineer Pharmanutraceuticals Our client is a fast-growing nutraceuticals provider in the health and wellness sector with a broad portfolio of clinically-backed products used by consumers, athletes, and healthcare professionals. Operations are highly regulated and quality-driven, with a focus on robust, data-based decision making. Cross-functional collaboration between engineering, production, and quality is central to how they work. They invest heavily in process technology, people development, and continuous improvement. Act as the process subject matter expert for key powder blending, mixing, and encapsulation operations. Map and document current manufacturing processes, building detailed process flows and technical baselines for improvement. Lead cross-functional teams to conduct PFMEAs, identify high-risk failure modes, and implement corrective and preventive actions. Diagnose chronic performance and quality issues across products and lines, and own projects to deliver sustainable solutions. Optimize and scale batch processes to unlock additional capacity while maintaining compliance, quality, and efficiency. Plan and execute lab trials, pilot work, and process experiments, including powder characterization and encapsulation studies. Partner with Product Development to assess manufacturability and process risk for new products and clinical trial batches. Maintain and improve lab methods, equipment, and test procedures in alignment with quality and regulatory expectations. Collaborate with end users to define equipment user requirements and evaluate new process technology and vendors. Mentor and guide engineers and technicians, helping to close skill gaps and build a strong process engineering knowledge base. Support production through troubleshooting, change control, SOP creation or review, and continuous improvement initiatives. Contribute to root cause analyses, process validations, and data-driven reports for leadership as needed. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field; a Master's degree is a plus. 5+ years of hands-on process development and process engineering experience in an FDA-regulated pharma or nutraceutical environment (or 3+ years with a relevant Master's degree). Strong background in powder handling, mixing/blending, and bulk material processing. Experience with lab equipment, pilot-scale studies, and experimentation under good laboratory practices is preferred. Direct experience with high-speed capsule filling equipment (HPMC capsules and tamping-style machines) is highly desirable. Proficiency with statistics, Design of Experiments (DOE), and tools such as Minitab, Visio, and MS Project. Demonstrated use of structured problem-solving methodologies in a manufacturing environment. Proven ability to develop detailed PFMEAs and translate them into practical risk mitigation. Strong communication, project management, and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams. Competitive salary package commensurate with experience and seniority.
