We are seeking a Senior Inpatient Medical Coding Specialist to be an essential member of our forward-thinking healthcare information management team. In this impactful role, you will bridge the gap between clinical data and advanced technology, playing a significant part in the development of AI-driven solutions for medical coding and billing. Your comprehensive expertise will be instrumental in shaping our product development initiatives as we work together to redefine the future of healthcare. Key Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of significant experience in inpatient medical coding within a hospital environment. Proven ability to accurately identify and extract ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS/CPT codes, and related modifiers from patient records. Deep understanding of the evidence requirements essential for precise coding. Extensive hands-on experience with grouper software for MS-DRG and APR-DRG assignments. Outstanding communication skills to effectively collaborate with the billing department on all coding-related issues. Updated knowledge of the latest ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS/CPT coding guidelines and changes. Familiarity with coding software such as 3M 360 or Optum HIM encoder is beneficial. AHIMA Certified RHIA or RHIT certification is required. A degree in Health Information Management (HIM), Associates or Bachelors, is a must. Key Responsibilities: Work closely with product management and engineering teams to refine AI models for coding. Utilize your coding expertise to train and validate AI systems for accurately extracting relevant codes from a variety of clinical documentation. Contribute to the creation of AI algorithms for accurate MS-DRG generation, ensuring suitability for reimbursement. Engage in collecting, entering, validating, and analyzing data to evaluate AI model success against predetermined business objectives. Act as a subject matter expert, safeguarding the accuracy and integrity of medical coding data for product innovation. Note: Certain positions in the U.S. may require adherence to applicable immunization and occupational health mandates. Compensation and Benefits: The U.S. salary range is $75,000 to $178,100 annually, including potential bonuses and equity.
