Key Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of significant experience in inpatient medical coding within a hospital environment. Proven ability to accurately identify and extract ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS/CPT codes, and related modifiers from patient records. Deep understanding of the evidence requirements essential for precise coding. Extensive hands-on experience with grouper software for MS-DRG and APR-DRG assignments. Outstanding communication skills to effectively collaborate with the billing department on all coding-related issues. Updated knowledge of the latest ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, HCPCS/CPT coding guidelines and changes. Familiarity with coding software such as 3M 360 or Optum HIM encoder is beneficial. AHIMA Certified RHIA or RHIT certification is required. A degree in Health Information Management (HIM), Associates or Bachelors, is a must. Key Responsibilities: Work closely with product management and engineering teams to refine AI models for coding. Utilize your coding expertise to train and validate AI systems for accurately extracting relevant codes from a variety of clinical documentation. Contribute to the creation of AI algorithms for accurate MS-DRG generation, ensuring suitability for reimbursement. Engage in collecting, entering, validating, and analyzing data to evaluate AI model success against predetermined business objectives. Act as a subject matter expert, safeguarding the accuracy and integrity of medical coding data for product innovation. Note: Certain positions in the U.S. may require adherence to applicable immunization and occupational health mandates. Compensation and Benefits: The U.S. salary range is $75,000 to $178,100 annually, including potential bonuses and equity.
