Job Description

Join GAI Consultants, Inc. as a Senior Distribution CAD Technician in our Distribution group! We are looking for talented individuals with strong analytical skills, problem-solving techniques, and solid experience in computer-aided drafting (CAD). This position offers the flexibility to work remotely and occasional visits to the local GAI office. Job Duties: Design and permit distribution lines with minimal supervision, including preparation of drawings, bill of materials development, material ordering, and conducting field visits. Train and mentor junior staff while overseeing quality assurance and quality control. Lead field visits to gather data for creating accurate drawings. Utilize various software to produce overhead and underground electrical distribution designs independently. Adhere to local utility and construction standards. Learn and effectively apply design software tools with on-the-job training. Collaborate effectively within design teams. Manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines. Regulate responsibilities in a dynamic work environment, adapting to shifting deadlines and scopes. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Lead a team of designers with confidence and expertise. Perform additional tasks as assigned. General Characteristics: Exhibit accountability in managing time, budgets, scope, and deadlines. Display advanced CAD skills and prioritize quality. Conduct self-reviews and correct errors before submitting work for further review. Minimum Years of Experience: 6+ Years of Experience Education: Associate Degree from an accredited Technical School or equivalent experience Technical Responsibilities: Conduct complex analyses and present findings. Review completed products for compliance with company standards and procedures. Assist with CAD checks and internal reviews. Management Responsibility: Provide significant oversight and mentoring to junior CAD operators, working independently with minimal supervision while receiving general reviews of project work. Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication abilities, facilitating effective interaction between team members and successfully coaching junior CAD staff. Why GAI?
