Requirements / QualificationsComments and Other Information Pre-Employment Requirements (To be completed upon hire): -Before employment can be finalized, the following requirements must be successfully completed: 1. Fingerprinting and Background Check: -All new employees must be fingerprinted for the Arcadia Unified School District. If you have previously been fingerprinted for employment with Arcadia Unified, this step may not be required. -The reimbursement fee for fingerprinting is $52.00 ($32.00 for transmittal fees + $20.00 for rolling fees). -Fingerprints are used to conduct a confidential background investigation. -Disclosure of Convictions: All candidates with a record of convictions are required to disclose this information in the designated sections of the EDJOIN application. A conviction record will not automatically disqualify an applicant; however, failure to disclose all convictions may lead to disqualification from the hiring process or dismissal if hired. -Please note that these fingerprints are separate from any fingerprints completed with any other organizations, including the Commission on Teacher Credentialing, and are required for employment. Fingerprint clearances do not transfer to or from Arcadia Unified. 2. Tuberculosis (TB) Clearance: -Newly hired employees must provide proof of TB clearance. This can be a Mantoux Skin screening or a risk assessment and certificate of completion, dated within 60 days of your hire date, indicating freedom from active tuberculosis. 3. Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9): -You will be required to complete an Employment Eligibility Verification Form (I-9) and present supporting documents to confirm your identity and employment authorization. Prior Employment Disclosure (AB 2534/SB848): -Effective January 1, 2026, Education Code sections 44939.5 and 44051 require all applicants for certificated and non-certificated (classified) positions to provide a complete list of all prior school employers. This includes all school districts, county offices of education, charter schools, private schools, state diagnostic centers, and state special schools where you have been employed, regardless of whether the role was full-time, part-time, or substitute, and regardless of the duration of employment. Failure to disclose this information may be considered dishonesty and/or falsification in the hiring process or after employment. 5. Mandated Training: -Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting Act (AB 1432): Newly hired employees must complete mandated reporting training. For substitute positions, Arcadia Unified requires this training to be completed prior to your hire date. -Harassment Prevention Training (SB 1343): Newly hired employees must also complete harassment prevention training upon hire.
