Billing & Payroll SpecialistCompany: Caregivers Location: Indianapolis, Indiana Employment Type: Full-Time Billing & Payroll Specialist OverviewCaregivers, providing the best homecare in Indianapolis since 1990, is seeking an experienced Billing & Payroll Specialist to manage the financial operations that support our homecare services across central Indiana. This role is responsible for Medicaid billing, payroll processing for staff, and maintaining accurate financial records across multiple systems.The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of billing experience, preferably within homecare, healthcare, or Medicaid/Medicaid Pathways-funded services, and thrives in a detail-oriented, process-driven environment.This position plays a critical role in ensuring staff are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliant billing practices with Medicaid and other payers. Key ResponsibilitiesBilling & Revenue Cycle Process and submit Medicaid, Medicaid Pathways, and other insurance billing for homecare servicesReview service documentation and EHR data to ensure billing accuracy and complianceInvestigate and resolve billing discrepancies or claim denialsTrack receivables and follow up on outstanding claimsMaintain accurate billing records and reporting Payroll Administration Process weekly payroll for caregivers and office staffReview timesheets and visit records within the EHR systemEnsure payroll compliance with state and federal regulationsManage payroll through ADP or similar payroll systemsHandle payroll corrections, adjustments, and reporting Financial Systems & Reporting Utilize QuickBooks for financial recordkeepingMaintain payroll and billing reports in ExcelWork within the company EHR platform to validate services and visit recordsGenerate financial and operational reports for leadership Compliance & Accuracy Maintain strong attention to detail in billing and payroll processingEnsure compliance with Medicaid billing requirementsMaintain accurate documentation for audits and internal reviewIdentify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce billing errors QualificationsRequired 2–5 years of billing and/or payroll experienceExperience with medical billing, Medicaid billing, or healthcare billingStrong proficiency in Microsoft ExcelExperience using QuickBooksExperience with ADP or similar payroll systemsExperience working with EHR systemsExceptional attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong problem-solving and communication skills Preferred Experience working in homecare or home health agenciesKnowledge of Indiana Medicaid billing proceduresFamiliarity with caregiver scheduling and visit verification systems Compensation Billing Specialist salary range: $52K–$61K in Indianapolis Benefits  Health insurance (50% coverage)Life, Dental, Vision Insurance (100% coverage)Paid time off (15 days accumulated)401k Retirement plan Professional development opportunitiesGrowth opportunities within Caregivers
