FY27 Anticipated Clinic Aide CNA

JOB TITLE: Clinic Aide: Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA) TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10-month contract (192 days) GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK: To provide direct services to students and information to the principal and staff in matters pertaining to student health QUALIFICATIONS: Current CNA certification, licensed in the State of Virginia Current BLS certification Knowledge and use of universal precautions for communicable diseases and bloodborne pathogens Ability to follow directions and work under a licensed nurse's supervision Ability to lift students as required Strong written and verbal communication skills Basic computer skills PERFORMANCERESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain confidentiality with student health information Attend to the basic health and first aid needs of students in the assigned school Administer medication to students according to Prince George County regulations Keep the school nurse informed as to the urgency of students' needs Maintain current health information for students with specific medical conditions (e.g., allergies, epilepsy, diabetes). Assist with and/or perform procedures for students with special health care needs where appropriate (i.e., catheterization, asthma management) Maintain accurate records, including a daily clinic log, medication log, and student health and immunization records Assist and/or perform screening procedures, including vision and hearing Maintain emergency information for each student Refer any suspected child abuse and neglect cases to the principal immediately Maintain a well-equipped clinic Arrange for prompt notification of parents when required for illness or injury of a student Become familiar with and operate within the framework of the"First Aid Guide for Child Care and School Emergencies" Attend scheduled in-service and training classes to increase knowledge and skills in job responsibilities Follow Prince George County Student Health Service Guidelines and Prince George County Schools Policies and Regulations Assist with health and wellness promotion Perform other duties as assigned PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to handle and lift equipment Ability to lift students as required EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Personnel.
