The Role As the Data Architect for Lumen's System Excellence function within STEPN Business Operations, you will lead and develop the data strategy for all business operations processes and supporting systems/tools. This vital role supports our transition to a product-based operating model, ensuring a unified data language throughout operations. You'll collaborate with various stakeholders, including Operations, Product, Development/Engineering, and Architecture to establish a comprehensive canonical data model and best practices for data management, including a potential Master Data Management (MDM) solution. Your key responsibilities include translating business needs into data requirements, aligning business processes with system designs, and maximizing the value of data throughout its lifecycle. You will be instrumental in implementing and enhancing systems and tools that adhere to data standards and will lead data governance across different operational functions. Acting as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) on data architecture, management, and governance, you will shape the future of our data ecosystem. Location This is a remote opportunity available to candidates throughout the U.S. Main Responsibilities Lead and execute the data strategy for all data utilized in STEPN business operations, including areas such as product management, program management, Agile work delivery, and financial management. Translate business needs into data architecture within business processes and system design, utilizing tools such as Aha!, Clarity, and Jira. Design, develop, and maintain a canonical data model to support STEPN business operations. Identify, implement, and uphold Master Data Management (MDM) principles and solutions within the STEPN Business Operations technology framework. Collaborate closely with operations, application, and reporting teams to ensure data alignment and facilitate maximum value throughout the operational lifecycle. Lead data governance efforts and establish best practices for ensuring data quality, standardization, and compliance. Mentor team members and influence stakeholders to enhance data awareness and improve the organization’s data maturity. Select and implement suitable tools and systems to support the data strategy. Oversee the mapping of data sources and data movement to guarantee data quality. Resolve data-related issues concerning systems integration and compatibility across multiple platforms. What We Look For in a Candidate Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with 10+ years of relevant experience. Proven experience in building data models and performing complex queries. Familiarity with implementing Master Data Management (MDM) practices and solutions. Experience in product management and program management disciplines, alongside Agile delivery methodology. Proficiency with tools such as Aha!, Clarity, and Jira. Experience with enterprise-level financial systems and tools, such as SAP or Oracle. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with 10+ years of relevant experience. Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills. Relevant industry experience in the communications and/or high-tech sectors. Compensation This position’s anticipated base salary range is based on national data and may vary by location. Individual compensation is determined by skills, experience, and other relevant factors. Location-Based Pay Ranges: $132,232 - $176,310 in states including AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, WY. $138,844 - $185,124 in states such as CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, RI. $145,456 - $193,940 in states including AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, WA.
