Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Agricultural Financing Specialist to join our community-focused financial institution. You will play a crucial role in cultivating strong connections with farmers, agribusiness owners, and rural communities while managing a diverse array of agricultural loans. This position is ideal for someone passionate about agriculture who wants to make a positive impact in the farming community. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of agricultural operations, seasonal financial cycles, and local market dynamics, positioning themselves as a trusted financial partner for producers and agribusinesses. Key Responsibilities Manage and expand a dynamic portfolio of agricultural and agribusiness loans. Establish and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with farmers, producers, and rural business leaders. Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow projections to inform lending decisions. Structure, underwrite, and close agricultural credit requests, ensuring compliance with all banking policies. Monitor loan performance and effectively manage ongoing credit risk. Conduct farm visits and collateral inspections as needed to secure loans. Collaborate with credit, operations, and leadership teams to enhance service delivery. Stay informed about local agricultural trends, commodity markets, and regulatory compliance. Required Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 2+ years of experience in agricultural lending, credit analysis, or ag banking is preferred. Strong understanding of farming operations, livestock management, crop production, and agricultural cash flows. Proficiency in loan underwriting, financial analysis, and credit risk management. Ability to build lasting relationships within rural communities. Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills. Familiarity with agricultural markets and producers is a plus. Preferred Experience Experience in community or regional banking. A background in agriculture, such as farm upbringing, education, or relevant work experience.
