Job Description

Transform Lives and Foster Connections on the West Coast - Join Our Team as a Licensed Speech Language PathologistOverview Imagine a career that empowers you to give individuals a voice - literally! As a Licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the charming city of Chula Vista, your mission extends far beyond treating communication and swallowing disorders. Here, you will play an instrumental role in unlocking the potential of your patients, instilling self-confidence, and nurturing the bonds that foster human interaction - from the youngest children finding their voices to seniors yearning to regain their independence. This unique position invites you to make an impact across a diverse range of clients, creatively blending outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient needs. Whether you are excited about guiding toddlers in language acquisition, assisting adults with neurogenic conditions, or engaging with older adults through cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation, you will discover a fulfilling and flexible environment to thrive. Description Conduct assessments for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through standardized tools and observational methods. Create tailored treatment plans that cater to both immediate objectives and ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements. Deliver customized speech therapy techniques focusing on communication, language development, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing functions. Collaborate seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, medical doctors, caregivers, and families to foster unified care strategies. Provide informative education to patients and families to ensure progress outside of clinical environments. Engage in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions, maintaining a consistent approach throughout the entire treatment journey. Document clinical notes accurately and punctually, adhering rigorously to state, federal, and organizational protocols. Stay abreast of the latest developments in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and collaborative opportunities with peers. Education A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained. Certifications Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of starting the position. Skills Expertise in evidence-based treatment techniques relevant for all ages, with an in-depth understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills when interacting with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams. Ability to adjust therapy modalities to respect and incorporate diverse cultural and linguistic needs. Strong analytical skills and clinical judgment paired with problem-solving capabilities. Familiarity with electronic health records and legal documentation standards. Benefits Competitive compensation reflective of experience and expertise. Flexible scheduling options promoting work-life harmony and diverse patient caseloads. Opportunities to gain expertise in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric services. Generous paid time off (PTO) along with holiday compensation. Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits. Continuing education support and professional growth opportunities. A nurturing, collaborative team-focused environment emphasizing quality care and continuous learning. A Journey That Enriches Lives In this role, you won't merely deliver speech therapy; you will become part of a communal purpose committed to restoring voices, fostering connections, and creating joy through the fundamental human acts of understanding and support. As part of our team, you will collaborate with professionals who treat each other like family, in an environment that champions collaboration rather than rivalry. Each patient carries a unique narrative; we'll count on you to help shape how their story unfolds. Why Chula Vista Is a Perfect Fit for You The vibrant spirit of Chula Vista embodies a perfect blend of coastal adventure and community warmth. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery, this area embraces a rich cultural scene where you can explore waterways, stunning parks, and bustling markets. As families enjoy lush parks and participate in local festivals, outdoor enthusiasts can delve into myriad recreational activities, including hiking, cycling, and water sports. The rich regional cuisine brings together flavors that will tantalize your taste buds, from artisan taco stands to seafood restaurants boasting fresh catches. Chula Vista's artistic pulse is alive through murals, galleries, and intriguing performances happening in community spaces. On a professional level, living here offers more than a vibrant lifestyle; enjoy benefits like no state income tax, affordably priced living, and a robust healthcare system that paves the way for career advancement. Whether you are just starting your career or a seasoned professional looking for a refreshing change, this location offers an environment where you can flourish both personally and professionally. Who Our Ideal Candidate Is We are in search of a Licensed Speech Language Pathologist who is driven by results and compassion. You see a quiet child and imagine their potential for self-expression, hear the hesitant speech of a stroke survivor and recognize their perseverance. You may be a pediatric expert aspiring to branch into adult therapy or perhaps a neuro-based practitioner eager to introduce early intervention strategies into your practice. If you are motivated to serve with purpose and lead with expertise, we warmly invite you to connect with us. Words to Build Futures - Together In a world where speech transcends mere sound and therapy is rich with meaning - if you appreciate the value of trust, and cherish the laughter that accompanies language - then this role could be the impactful next step in your professional journey. Join us to be part of a community that values communication, connection, and the courage to embrace new beginnings. Apply today to lend your voice to our team and assist others in discovering theirs.
