Job Summary Hours: 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM Call: Weekend call every 4 weeks. Holiday Rotation: 2-3 per year Previous experience in Preoperative care is preferred. This role involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to provide patient care through the nursing process. The position requires professional nursing care, including conducting assessments, assisting with exams and treatments, patient education, and maintaining medical records. Memorial Hermann Health System hires RNs based on various experience levels (e.g., newly licensed RNs under supervision, and RNs with 1, 3, or 10+ years of experience). Minimum Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Licenses/Certifications: Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing. Certified in Basic Life Support. Additional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or nursing unit requirements. Experience/Knowledge/Skills: RN I. RN II: 1-3 years experience. RN III: 3-10 years experience. RN IV: 10+ years experience. Effective oral and written communication skills. Principal Accountabilities Delivering safe and appropriate care to patients, considering their age and needs. Coordinating nursing care planning with an interdisciplinary team and making appropriate clinical decisions in patient care. Collaborating with and directing the healthcare team to achieve positive outcomes based on data, research, evidence, and professional care standards. Coordinating treatment plans and developing/implementing discharge and transfer plans. Participating in a systemic evaluation of programs, process improvement, and client-centered outcomes. Understanding the diverse needs of each patient throughout their care journey, ensuring the highest level of service according to established standards and optimizing the patient experience. Adhering to regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards. Ensuring safe care for patients, staff, and visitors; complying with all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary constraints. Promoting professional growth by meeting requirements for education and skills competency; supporting department goals that contribute to organizational success; potentially serving as a preceptor, mentor, and resource for less experienced staff. Demonstrating commitment to community care by creating compassionate and personalized experiences; modeling service standards of safety, care, and efficiency for patients and colleagues. Performing other duties as assigned.
