As a Lead Network Engineer, you will be at the forefront of designing, analyzing, planning, and enhancing network components that support our customer communication initiatives. This role involves tackling moderately complex to highly intricate issues that require a deep dive into data and situational analysis. Your Role and Responsibilities: In this critical position, you will be responsible for developing and evaluating cutting-edge remote site solutions for Humana and its subsidiaries. Key responsibilities include: Analyzing short- and long-term capacity requirements across switching, routing, transmission, and signaling. Conducting SDWAN network design and testing, including feasibility and cost assessments. Creating standard solutions and establishing the necessary sequence of network activities. Evaluating site growth and expansion to understand the impact on remote services. Participating actively in departmental strategy, making decisions on complex technical issues. Managing on-call duties and implementation activities during nights and weekends as needed. Ensuring best-in-class multi-platform network connectivity and infrastructure. Areas of Focus: Expertise in network engineering and implementation supporting various software-defined network technologies. Oversight of administration, configuration, and monitoring of network equipment and cloud resources. Development of hybrid cloud connectivity solutions. Technical integration concerning WAN circuit topology and carrier interactions. Your Engineering Responsibilities Will Include: Designing and deploying complex solutions across multiple SD-WAN and wireless platforms. Building and maintaining robust authentication policies. Integrating security solutions with existing infrastructure. Participating in large-scale project lifecycles to ensure high-quality deliveries. Mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of detailed documentation. Collaborating with internal and external teams to develop technical solutions. Documenting network infrastructure and business processes. Required Qualifications: BS/BA in a technical or scientific field, or equivalent industry experience with certifications. 4+ years in SDWAN architecture design and implementation. Network engineering certifications such as CCNP or Fortinet NSE. Extensive experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 network architectures. Experience with BGP and other WAN technologies. Strong capability in managing large-scale environments. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience in DevOps and Infrastructure as Code. Proficiency in programming/scripting for automation. Familiarity with public cloud service offerings and cloud network security technologies. Work-At-Home Requirements: High-speed DSL or cable modem for home office set-up. A minimum internet speed of 25x10 is required. A dedicated workspace providing necessary privacy for sensitive information. This is a remote position, but occasional travel to Humana's offices may be required for training or meetings.
