Job Description

Enhance Lives Through Communication in the Heart of the Midwest - Become a Speech Language Pathologist with UsOverview Imagine stepping into a role that allows you to truly give voice to purpose-literally and figuratively! As a Speech Language Pathologist nestled in one of the charming communities of Kansas, your work will transcend the mere treatment of communication and swallowing disorders. You will unlock possibilities, bolster confidence, and foster human connections-empowering toddlers who are just beginning to speak and assisting adults as they reclaim their expressiveness. This position offers a rare chance to work with a diverse patient demographic, addressing needs across the lifespan in a setting that beautifully merges outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient involvement. Whether you find joy in nurturing children's language acquisition, aiding in neurogenic communication rehab for adults, or engaging in cognitive and linguistic support for the elderly, your passion will find a home here. Job Duties Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric age groups using standard evaluation methods and direct observation. Craft individualized treatment plans that cater to immediate as well as long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing goals. Deliver focused speech therapy sessions aimed at enhancing communication abilities, fluency, and safe swallowing. Engage with a multidisciplinary team-collaborating with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and medical professionals to ensure comprehensive care. Provide essential education to patients and their families to facilitate progress beyond therapy sessions. Conduct occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions, ensuring a seamless continuum of care. Maintain reliable and precise documentation that conforms to all state and federal regulations. Keep abreast of the latest in speech-language pathology through continuous education and interaction with your peers. Qualifications A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is a must for those not certified by ASHA yet. Licenses and Certifications State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first month of employment. Skills Needed Expertise in evidence-informed therapeutic techniques for individuals of all ages, with a comprehensive understanding of both developmental and acquired communication disorders. Exceptional communication abilities to effectively interact with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Flexibility in modifying therapy approaches to accommodate varied cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Robust clinical judgment paired with strong problem-solving skills. Familiarity with electronic medical records and relevant documentation procedures. What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience. Flexible work schedules that prioritize work-life harmony and diverse client caseloads. Opportunities to pursue specializations in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics. Paid time off and holiday compensation. Options for medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with life coverage. Financial support for continuing education and professional growth. A collaborative culture that emphasizes quality care and a commitment to lifelong learning. A Role That Moves You and Your Patients Forward In this position, you're not merely providing therapy; you are stepping into a vibrant community endeavor that strives to restore voices, enhance communication, and cultivate happiness through the most fundamental human actions: the art of conversation and comprehension. You'll find camaraderie among your colleagues who treat each other like family, within an environment that thrives on teamwork rather than competition. Each patient brings a narrative; we are here to help you narrate it. Why You'll Fall in Love with Life Here Living in this inviting part of Kansas is an experience that seamlessly intertwines rustic charm with vibrant urban energy. Here, warm communities are surrounded by rolling plains and picturesque rivers, establishing a perfect backdrop for those yearning for the ideal balance between nature and modern amenities. Families come together in lush parks for community events or simply to enjoy the fresh air; adventurers embark on trekking excursions or boating adventures on serene waters, while culinary enthusiasts delight in everything from cozy diners to gourmet eateries that highlight the region's local flavor. The region thrives with creativity evident in every gallery, accentuating the local music scene and bringing together people for joyous community events. For professionals, the perks extend beyond lifestyle-with no state income tax, a manageable cost of living, and a growing healthcare landscape, this locale fosters an environment where careers can flourish. Whether you're stepping into your career or a seasoned therapist ready for new horizons, you'll find ample opportunity here to develop-both personally and professionally. Who We Seek We are on the lookout for a Speech Language Pathologist who is not just results-oriented but also possesses a strong sense of empathy. Someone who identifies potential in a reserved child and begins to imagine their vibrant self-expression or hears the hesitant speech of a stroke patient and senses a spark of resilience. Perhaps you are a pediatric aficionado wanting to delve into adult therapies-or a neurologically focused specialist looking to embrace early interventions within your practice. No matter where your experience lies, if you're prepared to contribute with compassion and understand the weight of your work, we cannot wait to welcome you to our team. Let's Craft Unforgettable Stories Together If you believe that speech is more than mere sound, and therapy is a journey of connection-not just about tasks-if you understand the importance of trust in pursuit of goals, then this could very well be the next chapter of your professional journey. Join us in a community that cherishes communication, cultivates connection, and celebrates the courage it requires to start anew. Apply now to bring your voice to our team-and help others discover theirs.
