Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Physical Therapist Discipline: Therapy Start Date: ASAP Duration: 20 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 8 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Days, 5x8hrs Hours: 40 hrs/wk Start Date: Jan 12, 2026 Length: 20 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of home health experience for a day shift position in a home health setting. Details Work in a skilled home health setting serving patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, orthopedic, respiratory, neuro, and trauma-related needs Treat patients with conditions such as post-surgical recovery, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, stroke, falls, Parkinson's, amputation, and weakness Handle a caseload of 6-8 home visits per day, with a minimum of 6 patient points per day, which may increase at manager's discretion Days shifts, typically scheduled from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with self-scheduling based on HomeCare office needs 1-2 weekend rotations per contract may be required Use Cerner (preferred) and specialized documentation systems including BayCare Forms, BayCare Scheduling, and Ace Timesheet Equipment includes laptop, MiFi for internet access, and portable printer Requirements Current FL PT license or compact PT license required at time of consideration (license required if applicable) BLS certification required Minimum 1 year of home health physical therapy experience required Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required for home visits OASIS training preferred Experience using Cerner charting preferred Must be COVID vaccinated or have approved exemption form on file Flu shot required or declination with mandatory mask wearing Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility per the 100-mile radius rule Additional Information Responsibilities include assessment, documentation, patient and family education, developing home exercise programs, and use of various mobility equipment and devices Care for a diverse patient population, including those with complex conditions such as trachs and amputations Billable modules and annual training are required and completed pre-start Facility is smoke-free Return staff policy requires permanent employees to wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler Scrub attire in any solid color is acceptable All time off requests (RTO) must be arranged with the unit manager on site after contract start Candidates may be required to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals American Traveler Job ID #P-642000.
