The Security and Loss Prevention Specialist (SLP Specialist) is a critical leadership role within the Amazon Security and Loss Prevention (S&LP) team. This position focuses on efficiently delivering comprehensive S&LP services across various operational business units and reports to the SLP Cluster Manager. Key Responsibilities: Identify vulnerabilities and perform root cause analysis using data to define action plans while ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. Monitor and report on data from systems and tools to uncover site and regional opportunities for improvement. Conduct confidential investigations and prepare detailed reports on theft, fraud, workplace violence, and critical incidents. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and increase operational efficiency. Serve as the department's liaison and crisis management subject matter expert, keeping site leadership informed about key issues and strategies. Identify, promote, and implement security best practices while partnering with internal customers to assess current and future security needs. Travel domestically up to 50% of the time when required. Engage in physical activities including lifting up to 49 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and working in variable environments. Be available to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, supporting 24/7 operations. A Day in the Life: As an SLP Specialist, you'll collaborate with a team of S&LP professionals, providing security as a service across multiple business units within your geographical area. You will perform regular physical security audits, investigate policy violations, and analyze security-related incidents. Your findings will contribute to identifying vulnerabilities and implementing strategies to mitigate them. You will audit and monitor physical security systems alongside subject matter experts, maintaining their functionality while managing budgets for external security services. On any given day, you will engage with external security providers to ensure high-quality service delivery and a seamless customer experience. You may also oversee significant initiatives by collaborating with stakeholders to achieve measurable outcomes through effective project management. Additionally, you will lead training sessions related to loss prevention and manage the implementation of the S&LP plan across various teams. About the Team: Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS) is dedicated to supporting operational Loss Prevention. Our mission is to create a secure work environment for Amazon’s Worldwide Operations by establishing global security policies, training staff, leveraging technology, and auditing practices to maintain compliance and mitigate risks. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, or 4+ years of professional or military experience. A minimum of 2+ years in security, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, or law enforcement, or 2+ years of Amazon blue-badge experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with metric-based strategies and continuous improvement concepts. Familiarity with physical security systems and vendor coordination. Operational experience in risk management, audit, data analytics, inventory control, retail, or supply chain. Experience in investigative interviewing; certifications such as Wicklander and Zulawski or Certified Protection Professional. Skills in workplace incident mitigation or business continuity planning. This package includes sign-on bonuses and stock options. Final compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and location.
