Sr. Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Senior Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our enterprise cloud environment. This role requires deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services, modern infrastructure practices, and automation. The ideal candidate excels in hybrid on premises/cloud environments and collaborates effectively across IT, security, and development teams. Essential Functions Design, deploy, and optimize Azure-based infrastructure solutions (IaaS, PaaS, networking, identity, storage). Lead cloud initiatives, including migration of appropriate workloads to Azure. Develop scalable architectures aligned with industry best practices and organizational standards. Manage and administer Azure subscriptions, resource groups, virtual networks, and governance structures. Oversee hybrid connectivity solutions such as VPN, ExpressRoute, Azure Arc, and identity federation. Ensure reliability, performance, and availability of critical cloud services. Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automated testing, reducing manual errors and accelerating release cycles. Collaborating with DevOps and application teams involves building, deploying, and maintaining cloud environment Implement and enforce Azure security best practices, including web application firewall, network segmentation, identity management, and least privilege access. Utilize Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and third-party tools to ensure proactive system health. Conduct cost optimization reviews and implement cost-control strategies. Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across cloud and on-prem environments. Work cross-functionally with infrastructure, application, networking, and security teams. Participate in on-call rotations and incident management processes as needed. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure with compute, networking, storage, identity, and automation capabilities. Hands on experience with hybrid infrastructure environments. Strong understanding of security best practices including role-based access control and compliance. Experience with monitoring, observability, and performance tuning. Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Qualifications 5-8+ years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, or systems engineering roles. Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-700, AZ-900, or equivalent). (Preferred) Experience with DevOps tooling (GitHub, Azure DevOps). (Required) Familiarity with containerization and orchestration. (Required) Strong experience supporting hybrid cloud/on-premises environments. (Required) Solid understanding of Azure networking: VNets, NSGs, routing, load balancers, firewalls, ExpressRoute, and VPN gateways. (Required) Strong knowledge of Azure Active Directory / Entra ID, role-based access control (RBAC), conditional access, and identity governance. (Required) Hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights. (Required) Proven ability to troubleshoot complex cloud and hybrid infrastructure issues. (Required) Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills. (Required)) Knowledge of ITIL processes and change management frameworks. (Required) Education, Training, Experience, Certifications and Licensure Experience with identity and access management (IAM) systems.
