Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Perioperative Discipline: RN Start Date: 03/16/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 10 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PreOp/PACU position at an outpatient surgical pavilion, requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active SC or compact RN license. Responsibilities Outpatient surgical pavilion setting with 20 pre/post bays, 2 ORs, 2 GI procedural rooms, and 1 VIR procedural room Patient population includes orthopedic (total joints, arthroscopy, hand, shoulder, and elbow cases), Interventional Radiology (VIR), and GI (upper and lower scopes) cases Unit team consists of 10 RNs and 1 PCT Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM No weekends, no on-call, no nights, and no major holidays Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs EMR: Epic (experience preferred) PreOp responsibilities include reviewing patient history, reconciling home medications, obtaining vital signs and EKGs, starting IVs, performing fingerstick blood glucose checks, and administering IV fluids, antibiotics, and pre-op medications as ordered PACU responsibilities include monitoring vital signs through all phases of post-anesthesia care and managing patient discharge, including wheelchair transport to vehicle Works closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR nurses in a fast-paced environment Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date First-time travelers are welcome to apply Former permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler All RTO requests must be submitted upfront; requests for excessive time off within the contract period may be denied Requirements Active SC RN license or multi-state compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS Minimum 1 year of PreOp/PACU RN experience required Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration SSN and Driver's License required for consideration Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate; local candidates within 60 miles may be considered at a reduced rate Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID #P-675171.
