Location: Salem Hospital, 890 Oak Street SE, Salem, Oregon 97301 Department: Inpatient Rehabilitation Position Type: Full Time, 36-40 hours/week, Non-Exempt Schedule: 8:00 am - 5:30 pm, 5 days a week including one Saturday shift per month Ideal start date: July 2026 Your role with us Salem Health Hospitals and Clinics is excited to announce that we are looking for our next speech language pathologist clinical fellow to join our Inpatient rehab team. The clinical fellow will commit to a one-year fellowship position (mid-July 2026-end of July 2027) in which you will gain exceptional experience that will help you further your career and obtain your certification of clinical competence. Join our collaborative team in the inpatient rehab unit at Salem Health. Inpatient rehab is a specialized unit that provides an intensive therapy program in which patients receive at least three hours of therapy/day across all disciplines including PT, OT and speech. Length of stay is between 1-3 weeks, and most patients discharge home or to a community setting. In your clinical fellowship year, you will apply the principles of professional practice in Speech-Language Pathology to evaluate and treat patients with the focus on restoring and enhancing a person's ability to function as independently as possible. To meet these goals, you will: Conduct evidence-based evaluations for speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable and functional goals. Collaborate with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams to support care and discharge planning including participation in weekly interdisciplinary team meetings. Recommend, administer and interpret instrumental assessments (e.g., modified barium swallow studies, flexible endoscopic evaluations of swallowing) as appropriate. Focus on exceptional patient care and customer service, fostering a supportive and respectful environment. Learn to manage a dynamic caseload efficiently, adapting to department needs and productivity expectations. Work closely with a dedicated team of acute care speech language pathologists, including an onsite clinical fellowship supervisor. Required qualificationsMaster's degree in speech-language pathology. Eligible for a temporary license in Oregon under the supervision of an ASHA certified SLP.
