POSITION SUMMARY: The Physical Therapist is responsible for developing and implementing tailored physical therapy programs to restore function and enhance physical movement. You will coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare providers and supervise the work of physical therapy assistants, rehab aides, trainers, and other allied health professionals. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct initial patient meetings to collect medical histories, assess current physical abilities, and design rehabilitative treatment programs aimed at maximizing function and alleviating pain. Utilize therapeutic procedures, exercises, and equipment to restore movement, strength, and flexibility. Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare providers while overseeing the work of physical therapy assistants and support staff. Regularly reassess patient progress and adapt care plans as necessary, while educating patients and their families about the recovery process. Ensure patient confidentiality and prioritize patient safety at all times. Maintain compliance with Medicare guidelines and other relevant quality standards. Foster a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to regulations and best practices. Perform other duties as assigned. Education / Training: Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy program. Active Physical Therapy license. Current CPR certification. Demonstrated competency in patient evaluation, assessment, care planning, and treatment. Specialized Knowledge/Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities. Ability to collaborate effectively within a team. Proficient oral and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving and situational analysis skills. Aptitude for identifying and seeking necessary information. Detail-oriented with a focus on client satisfaction. Physical Requirements: Engage in varied activities such as sitting, walking, squatting, lifting, bending, and reaching. Must be capable of exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and lifting 100 pounds as needed. Familiarity with various equipment including telephones, writing instruments, PCs, faxes, and physical therapy equipment.
