Job Title: Occupational Therapist - Outpatient (Medicaid Prior Approval Review) Location: Albany, NY 12210 Contract Duration: 26 Weeks Shift: Day Shift - 5x8s (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) Schedule: Monday - Friday | Block scheduling not available Compensation Local Rate: $54 - $58 per hour Travel Rate: $62.89 per hour (blended rate including stipend) Position Overview "Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist to support outpatient Medicaid prior approval reviews. This role focuses on evaluating requests for Durable Medical Equipment (DME), Prosthetics, Orthotics, and medical supplies to ensure compliance with New York State Medicaid guidelines and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive reviews of DME, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and supply requests to determine Medicaid coverage eligibility Apply clinical expertise to assess medical necessity and appropriateness of requested items Review medical records, documentation, and treatment plans for regulatory compliance and accuracy Interpret and apply NYCRR Title 10 and Title 18 regulations and Medicaid guidelines Prepare written documentation and participate in Fair Hearing proceedings via telephone Utilize national standards for procedure and diagnosis coding to evaluate appropriate service combinations Identify potential fraud or abuse through detailed case review Communicate effectively with physicians, stakeholders, and Medicaid members (written and verbal) Document and manage case reviews using Microsoft Office and standard office systems Required Qualifications Current Occupational Therapy license/certification Strong clinical background with experience reviewing medical necessity, prior authorizations, or medical records Experience in prior approval of medical equipment, supplies, or services preferred Knowledge of Medicaid regulations and coding standards preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard office technology Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Detail-oriented with strong organizational and regulatory compliance skills For more details contact at or Call / Text at 516-862-1169.
