Our Technology team, composed of a number of sub-teams and approximately half of the people at Priceline, plays a central and critical role in the company: building and maintaining applications that serve millions of customers, and enabling the business to grow and evolve. Our Technology The technology at Priceline needs to serve our customers and support our business, holding up to the scale & growth of our business (hundreds of millions of searches a day), while allowing for fast and safe innovation. We are very proud of the software and systems we have built, and we always have ambitious and exciting plans for what's next. We employ new technologies when and where we think they will benefit our efforts, and we leverage third-party tools and frameworks when we think doing so is a better strategy than building our own. Our technology landscape is always changing and evolving, and we have a constant cadence of improving existing applications, building new applications, and deprecating old applications. Currently, our technology stack includes the following: JavaScript and frameworks, including Node.js, React/Redux, and GraphQL Java, Go, Kotlin and frameworks, including those from Spring. iOS and Android languages and tools Cloud deployments, tools, and capabilities from providers like GCP and AWS. Various database, streaming, and search technologies, including Cassandra, Kafka, Spark, and Solr. Third-party tools, including GitHub, Splunk, Fastly, Perimeterx, New Relic, PagerDuty, Slack, Jira/Confluence, and Zoom. What you will do You'll be working as part of a tight-knit team, supporting our high-traffic Hotel, Airline, Rental Car, and Vacation Package businesses, building applications that deliver real value to our customers. You will be working on important projects and initiatives, supported by your team as you get up to speed. We do not expect co-op students to have experience in all of these areas, but any experience you do have in these areas are a plus! Relevant Skills for All Roles A collaborative work ethic and the ability to work within a self-organized, cross-functional team. Strong analysis & problem-solving skills. Positive attitude & willingness to quickly learn on the job Great communication skills. Familiarity with agile and Scrum. Experience running applications in the Cloud. Knowledge of Git and Gitflow. Continuous integration and automated testing e-commerce experience a plus. Experience with open source projects a plus. Relevant Skills for SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) Understanding of software testing fundamentals, including SDLC and test design techniques Experience in one or more programming languages such as Javascript, Java, Python, Swift General knowledge of software testing tools such as Selenium, Appium, Postman, etc. Experience testing web and/or native mobile applications Familiarity with CI/CD processes and version control systems Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Treating quality as a first-class responsibility Proactively thinking about reliability, coverage, and long-term maintainability Excellent communication and collaboration skills Responsibilities Creating and maintaining automated test suites for native apps and web Supporting release cycles by validating new features and performing regression testing Continuously improving automation coverage and driving the implementation of testing within CI/CD pipelines Evolving test automation frameworks, tools, and services Who we are WE ARE PRICELINE.
