PROJECT MANAGER A / COMMISSIONINGRFQ 1517 Location: Aiken, SC (Savannah River Site) Schedule: Onsite Estimated Pay Rate: $110/hour with a standard benefits package RFQ Closes: March 9, 2026 JOB DESCRIPTION The Project Manager will provide leadership, planning, and management for engineering, procurement, and construction activities supporting multiple moderately complex, multi-million-dollar projects at the Savannah River Site. Responsibilities include managing project scope, cost, schedule, safety, environmental compliance, and technical baselines while leading integrated project teams and matrix personnel. The role requires coordination across engineering disciplines and oversight of project implementation to ensure alignment with site objectives and DOE regulatory requirements. Key duties include: • Provide leadership and management for engineering, procurement, and construction activities supporting multiple projects • Establish and lead diverse project management teams and set priorities across ongoing project activities • Manage project scope, cost, schedule, and subcontract performance • Ensure compliance with SRS safety, environmental, and quality standards • Manage project staff including performance management, career development, and team leadership • Deliver clear written and oral presentations to internal and external stakeholders regarding project status and plans • Perform complex technical and programmatic analysis involving multiple engineering disciplines • Develop strategies to address technical challenges and achieve project milestones • Conduct risk analysis and establish corrective actions when required • Ensure progress remains aligned with schedule, cost, technical, and regulatory baselines • Provide technical project management guidance to project teams, peers, and senior leadership • Ensure timely submission of required project status and progress reports Projects managed at this level are generally less complex than those assigned to Senior Project Managers but still involve multi-disciplinary coordination and significant program impact. WORK SCHEDULE A standard 40 hour work week is expected. Schedules may include: • 5/8 schedule • 4/10 schedule • 9/80 schedule Overtime may be required to meet project deliverables. Job Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Environmental discipline. Experience • 10-12 years of engineering and/or project management experience • Minimum 5 years of personnel management experience Skills and Knowledge • Ability to integrate engineering design, construction, and business disciplines including procurement, scheduling, and cost control • Knowledge of DOE Orders and regulatory frameworks • Understanding of environmental regulations including: National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) • Strong knowledge of safety programs, environmental law, and project management principles • Ability to resolve complex project issues across diverse stakeholder groups • Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills • Ability to analyze and resolve highly complex technical and organizational challenges Security Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Previous DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two years • Experience leading commissioning projects from conception through turnover to operations • Experience serving as a Level III qualified Test Engineer • Five or more years working at Savannah River Site • Experience coordinating construction to startup transition logic and operational readiness activities • Experience implementing Manual 5E Startup Test Program or equivalent commissioning/startup program
