Job Description Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - Surgery - Plastic in Lansing, MI Embark on a pivotal role within a leading Level One Trauma Center, providing specialized plastic surgery coverage to a diverse patient population. This locum opportunity is ideal for a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon eager to make a meaningful impact through urgent trauma care, particularly in hand reconstruction and general plastic procedures. Required Skills: Board Certification in Plastic Surgery Proven expertise in hand-related procedures, traumatic hand reconstruction, and general plastic surgery techniques Ability to respond effectively to in-person procedures Strong clinical judgment and excellent interpersonal skills Commitment to patient safety and quality care Ability to work independently in a high-volume trauma setting Nice to Have Skills: Experience working within trauma centers or emergency settings Prior experience with trauma call coverage Familiarity with hospital-based plastic surgery protocols and workflows Preferred Education and Experience: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) Active state medical license in Michigan or the ability to obtain licensure At least 2 years of plastic surgery experience, preferably in trauma or emergency settings Other Requirements: Availability to start as soon as credentialed, with coverage dates from May 1, 2026, through December 2026 Willingness to cover approximately 19 days per month of 24-hour trauma call Capable of managing patients aged 15 years and older CMEs, travel, and licensure reimbursements provided Orientation rate at half the hourly pay Compensation & Benefits: Competitive hourly pay rate, starting at $0.00 (please inquire for current rates) Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Robust referral bonus program Paid sick time in accordance with all applicable laws Reimbursements for travel, lodging, and incidentals when applicable 24/7 dedicated support team committed to your success This is a remarkable opportunity to contribute to a high-volume trauma environment while enjoying excellent support and benefits.
