Description Software Engineer: MQ 9 Ground Control Station Modernization Location: 75% Telecommute. Candidates must be within commuting distance of Colorado Springs. This is a unique chance to collaborate directly with flight crews, operators, and technical experts, designing and delivering software solutions that significantly improve mission execution and system reliability. Be at the forefront of how aircrews interact with mission systems and how data is processed and utilized across the MQ 9 community. Key Responsibilities Lead the full software engineering lifecycle, including: Design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of software components and tools. Improvements and new development for complex, mission-critical software systems. Analyze software requirements and assess hardware/software compatibility. Develop software products, tools, and infrastructure to support GCS modernization. Work closely with MQ 9 flight crews, operators, and subject matter experts to devise solutions for real-world integration challenges. Implement engineering standards, processes, and best practices across development activities. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 4-8 years of relevant experience - OR - Master's degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience. Experience developing AI/ML related applications. Experience with time-based forecasting applications (desired). Active Secret clearance and the capability to obtain a Top Secret SCI clearance. Proficiency in programming with Python and PyTorch. Solid understanding of software engineering principles, lifecycle processes, and modern development practices. Preferred Qualifications: KML Data experience. Current Top Secret SCI Security Clearance. Experience in building user interfaces. Familiarity with DevSecOps. DOD 8570 compliance. Pay Range: Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level serves as a guideline and isn’t a fixed offer.
