Your responsibilities will include merchandising and inventory management, overseeing pet care operations, opening and/or closing the store, guiding associates, and maintaining a safe and organized environment. Essential Responsibilities Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: People Leadership: Guide sales associates in merchandise handling and provide essential training on product knowledge. Facilitate associate development through onboarding, mentoring, and coaching, while offering constructive feedback on performance. Delegate tasks and ensure completion of daily responsibilities. Act as a leader on duty, directing associates and addressing any concerns. Recognize and celebrate the contributions of associates, promoting overall engagement. Store Operations and Overall Store Experience: Execute merchandising strategies to optimize sales, including product placement and promotional setups. Manage inventory levels and conduct audits, making informed recommendations based on sales trends. Maintain accurate inventory records and address discrepancies promptly. Operate point-of-sale systems and handle cash transactions following company policies. Uphold store standards and foster an empowered culture by ensuring compliance with Policies and Procedures and the Code of Ethics. Share responsibility for store opening and closing procedures to uphold our brand promise. Complete monthly cycle counts and address any inventory discrepancies. Ensure proper pet care maintenance, including cleaning, feeding, and caring for new arrivals and sick pets. Facilitate positive experiences for pet parents, especially regarding online orders and service. Ensure the safety and well-being of pets in our care, reporting any issues immediately. Follow company Policies and Procedures regarding new pet arrivals and health standards. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment. Full-time availability required; flexibility in schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Proficiency in computer applications. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain composure and react under pressure. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Supervisory Responsibility No direct reports, but guiding and supporting the development of other associates is expected. Provide feedback on associate performance to direct supervisors. Act as the leader in the absence of other leaders, supervising associates, assigning tasks, and addressing concerns. Essential Physical Demands and Work Environment Must be able to stand, walk, climb ladders, and perform tasks that require use of hands. Frequent reaching, stooping, kneeling, and lifting is necessary. Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with team lifting for heavier items.
