Description Conduct thorough assessments of patients from pediatric to geriatric populations using both formal assessment tools and observational methods. Design tailored treatment plans to meet the immediate and extended needs regarding communication, cognition, and swallowing. Engage in direct speech therapy practices aimed at enhancing language, clarity, fluency, and swallowing abilities. Work collaboratively with occupational therapists, physical therapists, nursing staff, physicians, family members, and caregivers to ensure coherent care approaches. Educate patients and their families to foster progress beyond clinical settings. Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations, providing necessary interventions that maintain care continuity throughout recovery. Document patient progress meticulously, adhering to all state, federal, and organizational standards. Stay informed about innovations in the field through ongoing professional development and peer collaboration. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preference for the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is needed within 30 days of starting employment. Skills Expertise in evidence-based practice for all age groups, with a solid grasp of both developmental and acquired communication and swallowing challenges. Outstanding communication skills that inspire trust and rapport with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary teams. Adept at customizing therapy methods to cater to varying cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong analytical capabilities and clinical reasoning skills.
