Overview GCG Connectivity & Power Solutions (CPS) is seeking a dedicated Lead Procurement Specialist to enhance our customer-focused engineered solutions through strategic sourcing initiatives. This pivotal role involves collaboration with product management, quality assurance, and commercial teams to develop customized solutions that cater to the diverse requirements of industries throughout North America. As the Lead Procurement Specialist, you will take full charge of procurement activities for engineered solutions, establish strong vendor relationships, and ensure adherence to AS9100 quality standards. By utilizing your sourcing proficiency, analytical skills, and project management experience, you will play a key role in advancing projects and enhancing customer satisfaction. This opportunity allows for remote work, with occasional travel required for site visits to corporate and supplier locations. Candidates positioned in the Eastern and Central Time Zones are preferred to align with the procurement team's schedule. What You'll Do Drive sourcing initiatives for customized solutions, ensuring compliance with quality and documentation standards (AS9100, FAIR, PPAP). Develop and execute sourcing strategies that align with customer specifications and financial objectives. Build and sustain strong supplier partnerships through ongoing evaluations and continuous improvement practices. Manage supply and demand to ensure materials meet customer expectations. Effectively communicate project timelines, deliverables, and associated risks among procurement, product management, quality, and sales teams. Support the onboarding and approval processes for new suppliers and products. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to supplier performance, costs, and project milestones. Oversee cost forecasting processes internally for transparency in pricing, lead times, and financial considerations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supply challenges, improve data accuracy, and enhance procurement efficiency. Travel as needed (up to 10%) for relationship-building and business evaluations at supplier sites. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably within distribution or contract manufacturing. Proven ability to manage complex sourcing projects and communicate effectively across various departments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commitment to ownership and follow-through. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with ERP systems (Oracle, Rubicon, or similar). Knowledge of AS9100 standards and first article production processes (FAIR/PPAP) preferred. Experience interpreting 2D drawings in a technical manufacturing environment is an advantage. A background in wire harnessing, custom assemblies, or engineered electrical solutions is a plus.
