Part-Time Customer Service Specialist Location: Virtual. This role allows you to work remotely full-time with occasional in-person training sessions, ensuring maximum flexibility and autonomy. This setup encourages productivity, supports work-life balance, and facilitates essential onboarding and skill development. Please note that candidates not within a reasonable commuting distance from the relevant locations will not be considered for employment, unless an accommodation is provided in accordance with the law. Hours: Training will last approximately 5 weeks, Monday - Friday, either 9:30 am - 6:00 pm EST or 10:00 am - 6:30 pm EST. Following training, your regular shift will be Monday through Friday from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm EST. The Part-Time Customer Service Specialist plays a vital role in addressing customer inquiries through phone and written communication regarding insurance benefits, provider contracts, eligibility, and claims. This position entails proficiency in basic customer service functions while handling moderately complex tasks. Your Impact: Analyze problems and supply effective solutions to customer inquiries. Use a PC to retrieve and document information, including updating the database accurately. Keep detailed records of inquiry outcomes for better tracking and analysis. Cultivate strong customer relationships and collaborate with various departments to ensure timely handling of customer requests. Research and analyze data to resolve service issues and operational challenges. Provide both external and internal customers with the requested information efficiently. Manage follow-up calls and emails to address further queries from customers. Conduct outbound calls as necessary within the business area. May need to adapt standard practices with the aid of computerized systems. Demonstrate understanding and responsiveness to the needs of customers. Effectively multitask by handling calls, messages, and electronic inquiries while documenting conversations. Maintain focus while handling multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment; possess strong verbal and written communication skills; be attentive to details, a critical thinker, and a problem-solver. Display empathy and determination to fully resolve customer issues. Proficiency with digital tools to enhance productivity is essential. Will work on a structured schedule with potential overtime as needed. Perform additional duties as required. Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 1 year of experience in an automated customer service environment, or a combination of education and experience providing an equivalent background. Preferred Skills and Qualifications: Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving abilities, facilitation skills, and analytical capabilities are expected. Proficiency in typing with speed and accuracy is advantageous. Experience with Behavioral Health or Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) is preferred. Background in a fast-paced, high-volume inbound call center is desirable. Experience in Managed Care is also a plus. The salary range for this position is $19.00 to $25.50, depending on location, skills, and experience.
