Position Description & Qualifications Serco's Naval Acquisition and Sustainment Operation (NASO) is looking for a skilled Project Leader to drive engineering and technical services that support the maintenance and planning for the overhaul and repair of equipment and systems on U.S. Navy Surface Ships. This position is based in Rota, Spain, and requires a candidate who can manage complex projects within dynamic environments. This position is contingent upon maintaining your DoD Secret level clearance. As part of a high-performing Maritime, Engineering, Technology, and Sustainment Business Unit, Serco has a commitment to delivering impactful services to the U.S. Navy and maintaining strong partnerships with federal and state customers. Your key responsibilities will include: Leading teams that provide technical guidance to Ship's Force on Hull, Mechanical & Electrical (HM&E) and aviation equipment. This includes managing interfaces with combat support systems and various hull support items. Overseeing inspections, examinations, and analyses related to naval propulsion and auxiliary machinery. You will also be responsible for making recommendations on maintenance planning and repairs. Collaborating with the ship's reactor department to facilitate inspections and testing necessary for effective production work. Managing teams that assist with fault identification and support physical repairs across naval propulsion and auxiliary systems, ensuring optimal operational efficiency. Providing technical support and advice regarding the operation, overhaul, and repair of auxiliary machinery and aircraft systems as required. Overseeing the implementation of the Corrosion Control Assessment and Maintenance Manual (CCAMM) to support Ship's Force with tank inspections and repairs. Developing training packages and providing formal on-board operator and maintenance training to the Ship's Force. Creating Formal Work Packages (FWPs) and Controlled Work Packages (CWPs) per the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual. Managing personnel effectively to meet both short-term and long-term contract requirements. Cultivating positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes. To excel in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of seven years of experience in an engineering management field, or a High School Diploma/GED with fifteen years of relevant experience. Extensive military experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. An active DoD Security clearance. Five years of supervisory experience in technical assistance, maintenance, or design related to surface ships. Three years of hands-on experience with surface ship maintenance, focusing on propulsion, auxiliary, electrical, and damage control equipment. Direct experience with auxiliary and electrical systems on U.S. Naval Ships. Two years of supervisory experience in a similar field. Willingness to travel up to 25% CONUS/OCONUS. Key Skills and Knowledge: Understanding of maritime processes and maintenance methodologies. Ability to lead and motivate large teams to success. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools to facilitate project management tasks.
