PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: To receive orientation and training as a new professional in the industry. This role starts with a comprehensive 4-week training program focusing on core concepts, followed by a dedicated onboarding experience before moving into the on-the-job phase. A mentor and manager will support you throughout your career journey, equipping you with the foundational skills necessary for a successful claims adjusting career. We are looking for enthusiastic, service-oriented individuals for this entry-level trainee role who demonstrate: Strong Communication Skills Empathy Ability to Multi-Task Accountability Structured Thought Processes Ambition Agility in Learning Team Collaboration Skills ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE Attendance and completion of the designated claims professional training program. Adjusting various levels of workers' compensation claims under close supervision, including: Processing incoming mail, emails, and other documentations pertinent to claims according to their status. Communicating effectively with injured workers, employers, medical providers, attorneys, and representatives primarily through phone, video conference, and email. Conducting thorough investigations of new and existing claims by gathering relevant information, including medical records, employer reports, and witness statements, while investigating potential coverage, subrogation issues, or fraud indicators. Determining coverage and compensability in line with jurisdictional guidelines and carrier program requirements. Documenting claims files accurately and coding claim activities appropriately. Preparing detailed reports on findings and recommendations. Administering claim benefits, such as indemnity and medical benefits, while ensuring calendar compliance with state regulations. Participating in virtual and/or in-person meetings, claims reviews, and training sessions as necessary for education and claim discussions. QUALIFICATIONS Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED. EXPERIENCE No experience is required. As mandated by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles in jurisdictions that require transparency in job postings. Actual compensation depends on various factors, including skill set, experience level, and specific location costs. For this position, the starting pay is $25.65/hr, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401k and matches, paid time off, disability and life insurance, employee assistance programs, flexible spending or health savings accounts, and other additional voluntary benefits.
