Salary: $17.31 - $18.89 Hourly Location : New London, WI Job Type: Seasonal Job Number: 2603474 Department: Parks Seasonal Opening Date: 03/04/2026 Closing Date: 3/25/2026 4:00 PM Central Typical Work Hours/Shift:: Tuesday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Every other Saturday and Sunday 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM. We are hiring at Mosquito Hill in New London, WI. The Seasonal Parks Office Assistant will be assisting the department in administrative functions. HOURS: Tuesday - Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Every other Saturday and Sunday 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM. THIS POSITION IS NOT SCHEDULED TO BEGIN UNTIL MAY Key ResponsibilitiesAssists the general public and park guests at the front desk, greeting and directing, answering questions, providing information, answering the telephone, taking messages, and redirecting calls. Collect fees and issuing receipts for field trips, events, and rentals. Stock and re-ordering office supplies. Schedule facility rentals and coordinate setup and teardown with staff and volunteers. Corresponds with Nature Center visitors and volunteers, confirming reservations, sending informational packets, answering general inquiries, etc Maintains the Nature Center gift shop including customer service, merchandising inventory, stocking and reordering inventory, reconciling Point of Sale cash drawer and maintaining sales records. Various filing and scanning Performs mailing duties as needed. Maintains regular and predictable attendance. Performs other duties as assigned. Education/Certifications/Experience RequirementsMust be at least 18 years of age and enrolled in higher education for the fall semester. Strong computer/software skills and ability to learn new software including knowledge of Microsoft Office Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain. Required or Preferred SkillsDemonstrate ability to conform to goals, policies and procedures of the Outagamie County Parks System as well as the Outagamie County Work Rules and Terms of Employment. Knowledge of office practices and ability to use office equipment such as computers, tablets, copier, telephone, calculator, etc. Knowledge of and demonstrated skills in performing general clerical duties. Ability to manage multiple schedules, reservations, and competing priorities. Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills. Ability to work semi-independently, make sound decisions and practice good judgement. Ability to maintain confidential information. Ability to effectively communicate in English, verbally and in writing. Time management skills with ability to work independently. Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems and cash handling procedures. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment. Adaptability in a dynamic public setting. Professional demeanor representing the Nature Center to the community. Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain effective relationships with coworkers and deal with the public in a courteous and tactful manner. Lift/Carry Requirements: Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. Mobility: Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and move throughout the work environment as needed.
