The Senior Manager, Finance, R&D Global Drug Development position is a key financial position in the R&D Finance organization with responsibility for the financial management of HOCT (Hematology, Oncology, and Cell Therapy), Neuroscience and Immunology & Cardiovascular (ICV) functional budgets managing spend of $0.3B and 600 headcount. The role will partner extensively with functions leadership teams to provide sound financial advice and decision support. The role includes leading functional budget and projection processes, monthly close activities, P&L analyses, strategic thought partner for LT members and achieving financial goals. Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Lead HOCT, Neuro & ICV Budget and Projection Activities Key business partner for functional leadership teams. Develop robust analysis to challenge & influence investment decisions and drive/perform analysis for changes in assumptions. Assist and develop detailed operating budget and projections to guide resource planning and allocation as needed throughout Global Drug Development. Understand the resourcing models for the Development teams. Drive planning of meetings and present financial results to key management. Participate in leadership team meetings. Maintain an open line of communication with key stakeholders, including LT members, Chief of Staffs, Human Resources and Talent Acquisition. Month-End Close, Variance Analyses and Reporting Lead HOCT, Neuro & ICV monthly close activities, including P&L analyses. Analyze and identify root causes for significant variances. Partner with broader Finance team to coordinate day-to-day work and create a seamless flow of activities including special projects and improvements Financial Analysis for various ad-hoc and strategic initiatives. Support Operational efforts to improve process and efficiency. Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives and continuous improvement activities. Enable use of various tools to promote use of digital reporting and AI capabilities. Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities Qualifications Minimum Requirements Minimum education of a bachelor's degree is required. MBA/CPA is preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of finance experience with significant exposure to financial reporting, internal controls, and technical accounting. Proficiency with U.S. GAAP and general knowledge of business laws and regulations. Ability to prepare and defend financial analyses to support decision making, investigate and conclude on complex accounting issues. Must be able to present concisely and influentially in both oral and written format to all levels of management.
